Abortion

Anthony Ashcraft
This is the blog that gets me death threats and labeled as an evil, vile, despicable person. Good.

The reason I'm pro choice is kinda multi faceted. Namely meaning 2 faceted.

Firstly I don't think its anyones right to tell someone what they can, or can't do to their body. Of course this is within certain perimeters. Namely figuring out when life truly begins. Everyone seems to have a different answer. All claim they're right. So once it's medically proven once and for all when it begins, then anytime after that would be off limits, as it does become murder. If you don't like the choice, you don't have to have one yourself. It's a free country, for a little while longer still.

Secondly, I don't know if people actually realize the problem that outlawing abortion would cause. The act of outlawing something does not eliminate it. If you haven't noticed, people still do drugs, they still murder, steal, rape, pillage, and fight. While some things should be illegal, you have to pick you battles. Outlawing something doesn't make the problem go away, it just hides it, and makes it more dangerous. Prohibition on alcohol worked great, the war one drugs is doing wonderfully. Most violent crime is over something that is illegal.

By making something illegal it creates a black market. That black market works by its own set of rules. Abortion is banned, you have a hightened number of back alley abortions, and do it yourselfers. Which by the way is quite risky. You'll have a lot of deaths, and near fatal poisonings. Atleast if we leave the choice there, the people that choose to do it will have to option to have it done by a medical professional.

This country is full of people who don't agree with something, and then want it banned. It hasn't worked yet, probably never will. If you want to do something, you're going to find a way to do it, no matter the cost in the end.
