It is my opinion, that legalizing abortion is a good thing. I understand full well the argument from the opposing side, that abortion is murder, there is no way of knowing at what point a fetus becomes a viable life form, and that some of the practices are actually harmful to the mother as well. With all that being said, before abortion was legalized expecting mother's who did not want a child could receive an abortion anyway, either from doctors who thought it was a mother's right to choose, backstreet operations, or their own harmful ways. Before it was legal, abortions were still occurring and if it is ever deemed illegal, abortions will continue.
The mother will always feel it is her body and her right to choose, no matter what the situation or what her beliefs. If she decided to keep the fetus and was told by government that she is not allowed to, she would revolt and protest against the decision made for her by a government whose core values and foundation was for the people by the people. We all have the right to choose and have the right of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If the government takes away our right to choose, we lose our sense of self and will fall into socialism, a big buzzword of the day.
Is it not better to have clinics that know what they are doing and doctors with experience to perform the operation rather than some guy behind the clinic with experimental and crude tools that will just take your money and do more harm than good? I think so.

Post a Commenti'm totally against abortion, legalizing any type of murder is wrong. In our society, we believe if we do not call it murder, it is not. Try aborting a puppy in this country and see what happens to you.
