Fat
Fat provides the essential fatty acids that your body requires. Fat is a nutrient which insulates your body from extreme temperature changes. Fat also carries vitamins like vitamin "A, D, E and K. It is also said to satiate hunger to a certain extent. Consuming food which has fat depends on age. If you fall into the age group of 1-18 years then, you can consume 25 grams of visible fat. If you are 18 years and above then 20 grams of fat is preferred. And as you grow older if you are blessed with good health then, you can continue the consumption of the same amount of fat.
However, it is advised that you reduce the consumption. What happens when fat is consumed in excess is that, you will start putting on weight, excess of fat can hinder the digestion of other nutrients, the oxygen carrying capacity will be reduced as the red blood cells will clump together. Another major threat is that, there are chances where you can develop type 2 diabetes.
Fiber
There is no fixed quantity for the intake of fiber. But it is suggested that children take in less fiber than adults. Food that is rich in fiber are fruits, vegetables, nuts, pulses, seeds and grains. Intake of fiber reduces the absorption of cholesterol. It also prevents colon cancer. Fiber is a nutrient which can help you control your weight. Consumption of food rich in fiber is suggested to control blood pressure and blood sugar.Excess of fiber will lead to loose motions and decreased absorption of important nutrients in the gut.
Cholesterol
Cholesterol actually forms an important component of the nervous system. It also helps in keeping the cell membranes in tact. The surprising fact is that cholesterol is present only in animal food. Cholesterol is also found in vegetarian food, like dairy products, which is the source of animal products. There is no fixed amount of cholesterol. preferred to be consumed everyday. Excess of cholesterol will result in gall bladder stones. Gives more chances to heart attacks and strokes. Cholesterol is also said to line the inner surface of the arteries and decreases in the lumen of the arteries.
Hence have food which are rich in these nutrients, but make sure you do not take them in excess.
