10, 1975 in Jackson, Michigan. Her birth name was Lezlie Jean Moore, she didn't have her father's last name due to the fact that her parents were not married. Her mother was Debra Jayne Moore and her father was Kelly Lindel Reason.
From the day she was conceived she was an unwanted child. Her mother was only 19 and her father 18. They were into partying and having fun, not up for the task of raising a child. They decided to get married, to do the
right thing. Only time would tell that it was not truly the way to go. It wasn't long before the weight of
supporting a family became too much to bear and there was constant arguing and physical fights.
One night it was raining, thundering and lightening and all Lezlie could here was her parents screaming and
furniture being tossed around the house. At the loud crack of lightening there was an even louder sound of the
television being hurled against the wall and exploding. The only reason it hit the wall was because it missed its
target, Debra. That was the last time Lezlie would see her father for 13 years.
After Kelly left there was no money to sustain the household so Debra had no choice but to call her mother, Rose. Rose paid for a small camping trailer in a park for Debra and Lezlie to live in. Debra applied for public
assistance and proceeded to live as a single mother. She wasn't very maternal and didn't know how to be a mother to Lezlie. Once, when she had borrowed Rose's car to go to the grocery store, she left Lezlie in the car while she went to get help when a wire had shorted out and caused the car to ignite. Lezlie was sitting in the front seat of the car and could see the smoke and flames coming from under the dash, but Mommy had told her to stay in her booster seat and wait for her. Was Debra trying to dodge her motherly responsibilities on purpose or did she lack the common sense that should have told her to remove the child from the vehicle? That is probably something we will never have proof of.
After about two years of putting in what she called her best effort at being a mother, Debra decided she had
enough. She threw a bunch of Lezlie's clothes into a trash bag and drove to Rose's house. She pulled into the
driveway and opened the passenger side door. She threw out the bag of clothes and told Lezlie she was going to live with grandma now. Debra closed the door, got back into the car and drove away. Lezlie ran after her,
screaming for her to come back. Rose had heard the car racing off and came out to see Lezlie sitting at the end
of the driveway, crying, with all of her belongings in a trash bag. She picked the child up and whispered to her
that she was safe now and everything was going to be all right.
