About Green Hornet

Seth Rogen hit theaters this January playing one of the classic masked crime fighters in "The Green Hornet". This 2011 action superhero movie is based upon George W. Trendle's 1930s radio series of the same name.

Movie Plot

After newspaper mogul James Reid dies, his son finds himself in charge of the media empire his father built while writing about the city's corruption. Till this point, the son, Britt Reid has done mostly nothing with his life outside of partying. After meeting a man named Kato, Britt decides he's tired of wasting his potential and wants to do something good for the city by teaming up with Kato and pretending to be villains in order to get close to the criminals.

The Green Hornet Cast (2011)

Seth Rogen as Britt Reid. Actor Seth Rogen plays the lead character in The Green Hornet. Some have questioned the casting of Seth Rogen, believing he is too goofy of a guy to pull the role off. But considering he is backed by the award winning casting director Francine Maisler and director Michel Gondry, he'll probably be better in the role than his critics think.

Jay Chou as Kato. The Green Hornet is Jay Chou's first American film but is already a star in Asia both in film and music. He has won Hong Kong film awards for best new performer in the movie Tau man ji D and best original song for the film Curse of the Golden Flower.

Christoph Waltz as Benjamin Chudnofsky. Christoph Waltz shot to fame last year with his Oscar winning supporting performance in Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds. Prior to that, Christoph Waltz was mostly known for his German television roles. The actor plays the bad guy Chudnofsky in The Green Hornet.

Cameron Diaz as Lenore Case. Popular American actress Cameron Diaz plays secretary Lenore Case in the action superhero film. She's best known for her slightly comedic roles in movies such as The Mask, My Best Friend's Wedding, There's Something About Mary, and Charlie's Angels.

The Green Hornet Filmmakers

Directed by Michel Gondry. The Green Hornet's director Michel Gondry is best known as the Oscar winning man behind the unique film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Gondry has also received praise for his directing of The Science of Sleep and Tokyo!

Written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Seth Rogen isn't just an actor but he is also a great comedic writer as well. His writing credits include the popular comedies Superbad and Pineapple Express. Writer Evan Goldberg also shares writing credit on The Green Hornet as well as on Superbad and Pineapple Express.

The Green Hornet Movie Trivia

Jay Chou who plays Kato is a collector of cars such as The Batmobile, and told AsianWeek that he'll be adding the car, Black Beauty, which is featured in The Green Hornet to his collection.
