A.B.S. Yellow Pleated Floral Cotton Belted Dress

I love this dress and if I could afford this very minute I would have it! This is the epitome of Hilary Duff dresses! It does have an interesting print that kind of reminds me of something we all have probably seen growing up, your grandmothers couch. Not that Hilary Duff dresses like a grandma it's just the print is old school in a cool kind of way.

The colors of this dress are kind of interesting. Its not that A.B.S has come up with some interesting new colors, I just think the color combo they have put together is pretty interesting. They have combined yellow, black and white. It is by no means a bad color combo; I guess it's just that designers don't often use this color combo!

Anyway, enough about the color and on to the structure and detailing of the dress; this dress has high boat neck. So, when wearing this dress there will not be a lot of skin showing in the chest area which is good. Sometimes, women think they have to show off all their goods to be truly attractive, but really that's not the truth. Women are actually more attractive when they cover stuff up! One thing I like about the way Hilary Duff dresses is that she is very discreet!

Around the boat neck you will find some pin tucking and pleating. I really like this design element because it reminds me of something very vintage. I like too that this pin tucking and pleating is very subtle and does not make you look like you are a clown or something ridiculous like that!

Directly attached to the boat neck are the cap sleeves. These cap sleeves are barely noticeable, but they do add a nice classy touch to the overall look of the dress.

The next little touch in my opinion really makes this dress stick out. This little touch is the tiny patent leather belt it comes with. This patent leather belt come in a deep chocolate brown color that looks great against the yellow and white in the dress!

In a way this dress kind of reminds me of what Lucille Ball would wear on "I Love Lucy" because of the styling, also the side pockets. She was always pulling out something on the side pockets of her dress. There aren't too many designers who make dresses with little side pockets any more, but this is really cute and handy feature of the dress.
