Modern art is a form of art depicting the common realities of the present world. It may seem a little bit out of usual track but this is the specialty of this kind or art. It poses an abstract view a subject, which is otherwise normal to everybody else. It appears dissimilar because of its depiction in diverse forms and shapes. The artist vents out the burning emotion inside through color combination and imaginative of brush work. Creativity of the artist rules supreme in this form of art.

The conception of the modern art is known to have begun in the nineteenth century. A wide variety of techniques and materials were used during twentieth century to express the emotion and views of the artist of modern art. One style did not match the other. This individuality of the era is depicted in the work of art. In respect of the huge diversity, it is not easy to describe modern art in a single with a clear cut definition. Modern art reflects the feeling of the artist without any prejudice or the support of any institution. It is personal impressionism.

The distinction in style in modern art is visible through forms, colors and shapes irrespective of the subject. Reacting to a subject differently by different artists is the characteristics of this form of art. This is the way an artist perceives the subject and uses his creativity to give shape to his vision. The artist chooses his medium as per his requirement so that he is able to express his emotions and feelings.

Selection of the medium is entirely the artist's prerogative. The artist has an aim to describe the subject or the incidence through his way of vision. His only intention is to express his mind clearly in the work.

Modern art has been able to receive extremely good responses from people around the world due to its diverse form. Some of the works of modern art can be refereed as works of abstract art. Abstract art is not fundamentally similar to modern art.

"Cubism", is a form of art, which interprets a subject by the spirit of the subject. The physical appearance of the subject is matter of less importance. The great works of Picasso are correct examples of this form of art. With the arrival of pop art, we were mesmerized by the jugglery of colors. We enjoy attractive colorful posters and other fresh advertising method for its fantastic approach. Side by side, we find geometrical shapes of art creating an atmosphere of imaginative objects. The followers of Minimalism produce work with negligible presence of notable content in them. The age of Expressionism appears before us with a different kind of art, rich with abundant use of colors and unclear figures. It carries heavy touches of brush colors with hazy and undefined shapes. They all are created to vent the inner feelings of the artist. They describe the environment of the society and human feeling for impressing other human beings. People are roused with strong emotional treatment.

The idea of Futurism in the work of art is a gift from the Italians. The work embodies pace and beauty of movement. Artists would paint environmental contents depicting the movement of the nature in its glorified form. Surrealism is a mechanized form of art. It depicts real life pictures in robotic formation. Salvador Dali is a pioneer in this form of art. Impressionism deals mainly with landscape paintings. All these forms of art are real treasures.
