ABUSE of OATH in the SOCIETY
One of the conditions for assumption of office by a newly elected or appointed individual to a position of authority is the swearing of oath. Such oath supposed to check the excess(es) of the individual while performing his / her leadersip roles.
It has been observed that the habit of oath taking is widely abused in the society nowadays. Many individuals now swear falsely to oath. It is thus becoming business as usual. One can imagine the cases of corruption, misappropriation of public funds, money laundering, constitutional abuses, human right abuses, violation of rule of law, electoral malpractices among others, which are prevalent in many countries in the world today when in actual fact those involved have sworn to oath.
It is high time individuals work with conscience, being an open would, which only truth can heal.
