AC Content Producer Donna's Content Highlights: A Look Back

A Selection of Personal Favorites

D. S. Ploshay
I've been writing for Associated Content consistently for about a year. I've produced over a hundred articles for AC, but like many other content producers, I have my favorites. There are certain articles that I just enjoyed more than others, some that recieved lots of positive feedback, and some that were surprise hits.

I'd like to take a moment to share my content highlights with the rest of the community. Perhaps you will be able to enjoy them again, or find them for the first time.

How to Avoid the Naysayers: Eliminating the Negative People in Our Lives
This article was originally published at a young professionals website. I received some great feedback to it there, so I wanted to widen the article's reach and brought it to AC.

Naysayers are a huge obstacle in the industry I work in full-time-the career college market. While we have plenty of students attend our school right after high school, I mainly work with adult learners. Many of these people face negative people who will tell them they cannot learn, among other things. That is really what inspired this article.

I'm Donna Talarico, Not Donna Reed
I don't have a problem making fun of myself or admitting my shortcomings. This narrative explains how I am not too keen on housework, nor am I any good at it. The comments I received on this story made me realize that I am not alone with my lack of domestic skills. (I did notice that my abstract was changed and doesn't make a lot of sense. Please ignore that part.)

11 Strange Mating Rituals
This article contains some useless information about the strange mating habits of some animals and insects. Surprisingly, this article garnered my second highest page view count. If you missed this the first time, then perhaps you aren't aware that the female grasshopper kills her mate after sex....

How to Lose 10-17 Pounds in Seven Days (and the follow up article)
This experimental article was a lot of fun to write because it allowed me lots of interaction with fellow AC writers. I also lost some weight and learned a great recipe! Writing a two-part series where I shared my results with readers is something I would like to do again, in fact.

First Date Feeding Fiasco
I wrote this article a very long time ago. When I joined AC, I decided that it would finally be able to get an audience. (It was turned down at a major magazine I sent it to when I was young and very green.) While tongue-in-cheek at times, I think I really brought to life the messiness of some foods and why they should be avoided when trying to impress. Of course nowadays, I chow down in front of anyone!

How to Become an Office Superhero
With the popularity of movies like Office Space and the television show, The Office people are becoming more and more aware of office antics. This witty-at-times article is my own view of how to become popular at work.
