AC Writers Who Make Me Angry

Red is the Color of the Day

Pattie Byrd
I'm having a red day. I call it a red day because I'm seeing red. There are a group of AC writers that really get my goat, as my grandmother used to say. Now, whether goat getting was a big problem when she was young, I'm not sure, but it worked for her. Anyway, some of these particular writers make me see red.

Take Dina Quirion for example. Here's a writer that can explain how to fix pretty much anything in your house. Me, I can barely plug in a lamp without electrocuting myself. Not only that, but she has the nerve to write poetry that speaks to the heart. Now, that's just adding insult to injury. To make matters worse, she's got that cute little boy to take pictures of, where all I've got is my husband all slouched out on the couch watching TV. I ask you, is that fair?

And then there's Morag Mortimer-Smythe who also takes all those beautiful photos and writes all those fun articles about growing up with Mum. It just doesn't seem fair that people who can write humor can also use a camera. To top it off, he's really bad about leaving those pithy and entertaining comments on your articles. Hey, come on.

Frank Mucci drives me bananas. Imagine creating travel articles about places he's never been. How creative can one person be? And don't even get me started on his sarcastic humor.

Maria Roth is on my list, too. Here's a writer that can be side-splitting funny in one article, and next she'll be wrenching your guts out in sharing her feelings. No matter what I do, I can't help myself from having a reaction every time I read her work. You're killing me here.

And then what does Maria do, but introduces me to her dad, Mike Oberg, who takes these amazing photographs of places and things. I point a camera and I get fuzzy bush. Mike points a camera and gets an amazing close up of some creature. Oh the unfairness of it all.

And don't get too cocky, Nancy Canfield, because you're on my list, too. She's been at the top ever since she wrote that clever article where she interviewed herself. How dare she think of that before I did. She just stole my idea before I thought of it.

Rhonda ODonnell is another one of those photographers who's always showing off with those gorgeous pictures. I think she's got a little edge over me, though, because she actually works around pictures. Of course, it might be a little bit of her knowing more about what she's doing than I do in there, too. It's either that or they grow bugs bigger around her neck of the woods.

Steven West gets on my nerves, too, with his funny and clever poetry. He's sneaky because when you least expect it, he'll post one of those little cute conversational pieces. I think he does this to irritate me and catch me with my guard down.

Then there's Philip Theibert, the writer who does these wonderfully clever articles on everything under the sun, yet he always seem to slip in a bit of humor. His latest article is about does the internet make us dumb. Well, of course, it does or we wouldn't have people putting stuff all over it that gets them in trouble. But you need to be careful, Philip, I think you're beginning to ramble a little bit. I'd hate to have to get on to you about my turf.

Oh, there's so many of you, I can't even begin to count. Janet Hunt, a hard working woman who still finds time to write her amazing poetry. Charlotte Kuchinsky who writes with such emotion that she pulled me right into the life of a small girl as she grows. Mike Hatz not only makes music but he still manages to find time to write informative articles about different aspects of music. Walton Tissot creates fantastic epic style poetry, and it just makes my blood boil. Carl Benjamin wants to make pole dancing an Olympic sport, and he also bears a striking resemblance to a fourth cousin that I don't like. Well, that right there is enough for me. And then there's that Tal Boldo who writes those useful household decorating tips, and she is beating my socks off in the page view contest. I could go, but I'm so upset with all these people, I'm having trouble pounding the keys.

That's okay, people, because one of these days I'm going to learn how to use this digital camera I have, and then we'll see who gets the last laugh. And it may be sooner than you think because I've almost figured out how to get the lens cover off.

In the meantime, I suggest you read some of these people's work, and you'll agree with me when I say it's just not fair.
