Academy Award Nominations 2011, Mila Kunis, Mark Wahlberg Dubbed as Contenders Then Snubbed (Links)

Just ask Mila Kunis, Mark Wahlberg, and Andrew Garfield who were snubbed by the Academy Awards 2011 and missed out on an Oscar Nomination what that feels like. They might reply that first being dubbed as a serious contender for the almighty Oscar and then being snubbed is the quickest way to deflate a super-sized Hollywood ego.

And they may seriously have a real beef in addition to bruised egos.

Andrew Garfield who played Eduardo Saverin in 'The Social Network' and Ryan Gosling who played an alcoholic and less-than-ideal husband in 'Blue Valentine' were given stellar ratings for their performances as was Mila Kunis in 'Black Swan', yet none of them received a nod from the Academy Awards.

Additionally, Julianne Moore of 'The Kids Are All Right' was snubbed as a nominee for Best Actress while co-star Annette Bening (who won Best Actress for that role recently at the Golden Globes) received another nod along with Natalie Portman for her role in 'Black Swan'.

Mark Wahlberg of 'The Fighter' was overlooked while Christian Bale, Melissa Leo (who won the Golden Globe) and Amy Adams were nominated for awards.

Other snubs include Michael Douglas ('Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps'), 'Burlesque', and 'The Tourist' with A-listers Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp.

While being snubbed and perhaps rubbed the wrong way by the Oscars, it probably isn't as bad as landing on the Golden Raspberry Nomination List which was just released yesterday.
