AcBel CE2 500 Watts Power Supply

The power supply is the one of the most vital parts of a computer. Even though you have the fastest processor, the best feature-packed motherboard, ultra high-end video card, staggering memory capacity and terabytes of storage, they are useless without power. The power supply provides and manages the power to operate the computer. However, choosing the right power supply for your system can be a daunting task. It will depend on the hardware you have. Even if you have a mid-range PC, you'll need to consider buying a branded and true-rated power supply. For my computer, I chose AcBel's CE2 500-watt power supply.

Right off the label, the specifications of the CE2 are the following 110-115/220-230 volts AC input and a maximum output of 434 watts. It supports the latest Intel i5/i7 and AMD Phenom processors. You can use it on almost any power outlet and has an on and off switch. You won't have problems when it comes to the connectors. It has the usual 4-pin connector for the motherboard, 20+4 pin power connector, 4 SATA power connections, 4 Molex 4-pin peripheral connectors, FDD power connector and a 6-pin video card power connector.

In my experience, I have been using generic power supplies prior to buying this product and as I learned more about power supplies, those aren't enough to give power to my video card and my Core 2 Duo processor. All of the generic power supplies I've used have limited connectors. They only have 4 molex connectors and they do not have the 6-pin connector for the video card. I was frustrated since I had to buy adapters so that I could power up my video card and SATA devices. But the most disappointing thing that always happens to me is that all of them, except 1, broke down because of the constant load I push into them.

An MSI technician, Errel, told me that with my computer specifications, I must buy a branded power supply. It doesn't have to be that powerful but I should have at least a 400-watt true-rated power supply. The cheapest one that I've found was the AcBel CE2 500-watt power supply. I have all the connectors I need plus I have a lot more to spare. I can now push my video card without having to worry about power.

Thus far, the AcBel CE2 500-watt power supply is doing great on my PC. I can give enough power for my video card to pull extra frame rates on my games. I also do not have to worry about power surges since it has built-in protection (in addition to it being connected to a surge protector). Also, with extra case fans, my PC is much cooler. I was able to bring down the internal temperature to around 40 degreed Celsius.

So, if you do not have that much hardware and you need a cheap, reliable and a branded power supply, the AcBel CE2 500-watt power supply could be your best bet. However, if you have a powerful set of computer hardware and if you plan to use two video cards, this won't do and you will need a high-end power supply in order to utilize your hardware.
