Acceptance

Kurt Evans
When life serves us up a set of circumstances that we don't like, our automatic reaction as human beings is to want something else by trying to avoid our circumstances rather than practicing acceptance and learning from our experience. If we accept our conditions and do something about it, we grow from it as a result.

Acceptance Of Your Conditions

It's funny how life works sometimes because when you're put in certain situations, acceptance of your conditions is your only choice at the time. Just before the earthquake hit in Haiti, all we heard on the nightly news was how bad the economy is and how we're in a recession, and how everybody is loosing their jobs.

Need Of Help

Now, that people in another part of the world are in dire need of help because their very way of life has literally crumbled to the ground in a disastrous earthquake; help and resources appear out of nowhere because of people's ability to practice acceptance. Problems of foreclosures and looming debts no longer seem like such big issues when compared to people that are just literally left with the clothes on their backs due to a natural disaster who have to practice acceptance of their situation in order to survive.

Come Together

People from around the world come together to help each other in Haiti in a time of need; not because they're ordered to, not because they have to, they do it because their fellow human beings are in need of help. That's all we are on this planet, is human beings.

Why

Why does it take a natural disaster to bring us together?

The Lesson For All Of Us

Maybe, just maybe, there's a lesson in this for all of us. Maybe we could be more concerned about each other, rather than getting that one extra car in the driveway. Maybe we could help out our friends who are in a time of need because their facing foreclosure and their world is crumbling to the ground because they're loosing their house and have nowhere to go. Maybe, just maybe, that's what it's going to take for us to make it through this housing crisis that we are experiencing in this country. Maybe we need to be more humanitarian and less materialistic.

An Island

No one man or woman is an island and no one individual stands alone without getting help from others in one form or another. All of the products, you buy at a store, or in a mall are made by someone else, and you wouldn't be able to have what you have now, if it wasn't for them.

In Our Hearts

If we have acceptance in our hearts, our minds will naturally follow.

We Sink Or Swim Together

The lesson in this for all of us is that we sink or swim together. Humanity as a whole, works a lot better when we take the time to communicate with each other and say," what do you need? How may I help?" Acceptance of each other is what we need.

Possibilities

Think of the possibilities, if every human being on the planet practiced acceptance, we could put an end to disease and human suffering, in a heartbeat.

I agree very much that acceptance is key. Great article.

Great! Unfortunately, there are always going to be people who cannot accept things for how they are.
