Acceptance & Beauty

JL
Waking up in the morning, after a long nights sleep. Looking at the hard lines in your face. Eyes slightly darkened, and skin so dry. The new day begins. Washing, cleansing, creams and lotions. Don't forget the make-up.

Oh that hair! Just does not want to do what I want it to do. The hairspray is almost empty, that is a disaster! Okay a pony tail, to make it look just right. The color seems to have changed, time for a new one.

Have you ever noticed the beautiful people? Seeming so nice because they look so good. People looking up at them because they seem to be better than the average person. But, that is the outside. What is on the inside?

Looking up at a beautiful person, can be very disappointing. Why? The person who looks beautiful is not necessarily beautiful at all. Of course there are exceptions. But, normally a beautiful person is not a person to be in the center of attraction.

Try this experiment. One day, try wearing close that are ordinary, jeans, t-shirt. Not to much make-up if your a women. Just be yourself, no Fancie hair, just being you. Go to the Mall, see how people react to you being you. Observe.

The next day. Wear nice cloths, a suit or a nice dress. Make your hair look nice and put on the make-up. Go to the same Mall. What are your reactions? What is it you observe almost right away? Acceptance! That's right, you are being respected because you look good.

Is that fair? The day before you were looking good too. You were you. What is wrong with our society, social life. Why can't you be accepted the way you are? After all, the outside does not make the person.

Ever notice the good looking person? The one you wanted as a partner? Getting to know them, what usually happens? You see the inside and realize this person is not as good looking as you thought. Reality speaks.

Yes, beauty is on the inside. A person with a good heart means more than good looks. But then again, who really has the knowledge to say what is beautiful? We are all beautiful in our own ways. All born with our own personal ways. To be excepted is great, being excepted the way you are is even better.

This is so insightful. Beauty really is on the inside. Great work. :-)

So true....what is beauty anyway? This has been pondered sine the world began! You have your priorities straight! Sometimes I do not! :(
