Accuracy of Psychic Readings - Can You Change Your Own Future?

How Accurate Are Psychic Readings?

Therese Relucio
The idea of psychic predictions being 100% accurate 100% of the time is an incorrect one. First off, it is important to note that although psychic abilities are real and do exist, precognitive knowledge (predictions) do not necessarily guarantee exact results. The accuracy of the reading from a genuine and legitimate psychic is dependent on several things:

1 - The correct interpretation of the message from the psychic medium

Messages from the higher self of the psychic are received in mostly symbols, although may sometimes be literal. They may be received through any of the 5 paraphysical senses '" clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairgustance, clairsentience and clairscent '" but once received, must still be interpreted by the psychic and then communicated to the client. Throughout all of these translations from symbols to interpretation and then communication through language it is likely that the main message becomes jumbled and therefore incorrect or inaccurate. Assuming that your psychic is genuine, legitimate and ethical, the accuracy of the prediction is to the best of his or her skills. Anybody who claims to know all, see all, solve all is more likely a scam artist rather than a true psychic.

2 - Timing is always important

Everything is energy. Whether you can see it, feel it or just know it, it is all made up of energy. It is fluid and changeable. Because everything is always changing, the timing of your psychic reading will also affect the accuracy of the reading. Outside of the physical world that we live in there is no such thing as time. Therefore, your psychic reading may not be accurate with regards to timing and what happens during the in-between time. The classic extreme example is if someone goes to a psychic who says they will be meeting the love of their life in a park on a particular day. Now the person decides that until that day comes they will be on the lookout for that person and stand in that park each day waiting. When that day comes, there is no meeting and now the client believes the psychic was inaccurate. This may be the case, but it is very likely that other important things were not put into place due to the shortsighted end result that the client was expecting. Timing is very important and if something is not meant to happen at that time, it won't.

3 - Everything happens for a reason

This sounds cliche I know. But it is one of the most important things to remember when getting a psychic reading or even just in general. Tragedy can strike, love can blossom or wither, and many unknowns can occur in your daily life. Sometimes, it may seem like everything is piling up on you all at once. During these moments, it is important to remember that everything happens for a reason. If you received information during your reading that turned out to be inaccurate, in the larger picture of life there was a reason why you needed to hear that information regardless of whether or not it was going to happen. A psychic may see something that may occur in your future, but that is dependent on your own actions as well as based on the current path that you are on at the time of the reading. Even if we cannot always see and touch the changes, they are nonetheless still occurring. A legitimate psychic knows that nothing is 100% definite because outside forces '" including the Universe '" are always in effect. There is always a more important goal to be reached than our own personal resolutions to our own issues. There is a collective goal of peace, love and service to one another. So once again, everything happens for a reason.

4 - Free will

This is a common question among clients. How much of the predictions can we control? The answer is most of them. As individuals, we all have free will. This goes back to the idea that nobody, and I mean nobody, can know everything. Whatever you want to call it '" God, the Universe, the Divine, etc. '" we are not it. We are an important part of it, but we are not it. We must all work towards our future in order for them to manifest. A prediction of a job that will be found in the next 3 months may be accurate '" and it may be that the psychic is sensing that energy change '" but if the client takes this information and decides that they will not give an honest effort in searching since in 3 months they will find a job anyway, then they client does not fully understand the prediction and his or her role in manifesting it. These are usually the type of clients who incorrectly expect the psychic to create their future for them. Last classic example: A client gets a psychic reading and hears all about things that are coming up for him for the rest of the year. After the session, the client decides to jump in front of a moving vehicle and ends up dying. His free will to decide to end his life completely altered all of the future predictions. But then again, if his life was supposed to end at that moment, then it was meant to be in the greater perspective.

5 - Client's expectations

This is an easy one. If a client expects certain answers, predictions and even particular spirits to connect during their reading, then they are setting themselves up for failure. The best way to approach a reading is with an open mind, which in turn will keep your energy open. It allows the psychic to work freely and also ensures that the reading is as accurate as can be. A psychic can receive negative messages but a good psychic will only impart it in a way that will still empower their client. The goal of the reading is to be able to help the client feel empowered and to trust their own selves, not to be dependent on so-called unchangeable predictions. On a slightly similar note, a client who comes in with a closed and defensive energy will be met with a psychic who will refuse to read for them due to the energy not being able to freely flow between the two of them.

What we may believe we want to get out of the reading is not necessarily what we may need. Trusting the Universe to bring us what we need at that moment in time is something that many clients have trouble doing. Just know that everything that happens is perfect for that particular moment in time. Everything happens for a reason (see number 3 again).

If during the reading you are expecting certain concrete solutions and predictions, you will most likely walk out of your reading feeling disappointed. Future predictions can change due to interruptions in your life, anyone else's life and also from yourself. We are working with a collective energy, not just our own isolated energy. Psychic readings are not written in stone and all genuine psychics will attest to this. However, keep in mind that it can serve as an outline waiting to be filled in by the client. Psychic readings are accurate to the best of the genuine psychic's abilities '" and a genuine psychic will always give 100% of their own effort to do a great job for their client.

When my clients ask the complicated questions about predictions versus free will and destiny, I reply with a not so simple answer. The Universe is complex and among the disorder and chaos, there is order and purpose. There is a complete record of everything that was, may have been and could have been as well as various outcomes for everything that can and may be, will be and is. It is definitely not black and white. And just like life, the psychic reading should also be seen as such. If you don't like something that you heard during your reading, it may be that you needed to hear it in order to cause some change in yourself and actions. On that same note, if during a session, some of my predictions are inaccurate, I don't beat myself up over it but instead trust that for some reason in that moment of time during that session with that particular client, I knew I perceived it and therefore communicated it.
