Probably the most recognizable track on the Back in Black album is "You Shook Me All Night Long" which I vividly remember as constantly being played at the skating rink. It was #1 on VH1's Top Ten AC/DC songs, #10 on VH1's "The 100 Greatest Songs of the 80's" and #35 on the Billboard Top 100 singles in 1980. Though this was not the most popular song on the album, I can't imagine anyone not being familiar with it if they were around in the 80's and 90's and it is still played often today.
The album's title song, "Back in Black", was their tribute song to former singer, Bon Scott. Scott died at the age of 33 after a night of partying and AC/DC brought in Brian Johnson who remains the lead singer to this day. The song received the RIAA's Master Ringtone Sales Award (Gold and Platinum) in 2006 and reached 2x Platinum status in 2007 which proves how well a great album can reach so many people over the decades.
Other tracks from this album include "Hells Bells" which is quite popular at sporting events, "Have a Drink on Me," "Shoot to Thrill." What Do You Do For Money Honey." "Givin' the Dog a Bone," all of which should strike a memory cord in most of us. Back in Black is by far one of the greatest hard rocking albums of all time. Critics have called their lyrics juvenile, but who cares, it rocks and the memories that the music brings back are priceless.
