Feature
The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is a full HD Android tablet which runs the Android Honeycomb operating system which is extremely popular among the non-Apple tablets on todays market. With a 10.1" touchscreen it competes with the largest tablets on the market, and has some extra features which definitely separate itself from what is quickly becoming the crowded world of tablets. A sleek aluminum casing with a rounded surface houses an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce graphics processor which gives you amazing graphics and provides smooth streaming and gaming. If you want to video chat or take pictures of your friends and family, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 has a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and 2 megapixel front-facing camera. And don't worry about running out of power while spending hours having fun with this tablet. 8 hours of battery life is more than enough to keep you going until your next charge.
Like I said the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is a 10.1" touch-screen tablet with 10-point multi-touch functionality. It is capable of 1280x800 resolution and has a the ability to maintain a great view from angles as extreme as 80 degrees. It has an orientation-less design so you can turn it up and down, left and right, it doesn't matter. The screen will follow you wherever you go, unless of course you don't want it to. The screen is capable of full HD and can be viewed conveniently, but if you'd rather port the display to an HDTV that is possible with the Micro-HDMI port provided along the side of the tablet. The Acer Iconia Tab A500 also has a USB port and Micro-SD card slot that lets you expand the tablets memory and enhance connectivity. A USB port sounds simple, but there are many tablets out there today which do not have a USB port. Use it to connect an external hard drive, or sync with your computer to upload content. If you don't like the tangle of cords, use Acer Sync to wirelessly synchronize contacts, calendars, photos and videos between the Acer Iconia Tab A500 and your PC. While Acer Sync lets you transfer content between the tablet and PC, Acer Clear.fi lets you manage, store, share, and play media between any Clear.fi device in your home. Install Clear.fi on your PC, laptop, and smartphone and share the content between all of them and the Acer Iconia Tab A500.
The online experience on the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is exactly what you'd like it to be. With full Adobe Flash support you won't have to worry about your favorite websites functioning incorrectly. Looking to have fun? Preloaded games like Need for Speed: SHIFT and Let's Golf can get you started before even having to download or purchase anything. Social Jogger is a program that lets you access all your social networking applications in a single program. Instead of having to navigate from page to page, use Social Jogger to manage all of your social networking presences at once. If you can't find what you need preloaded or on the Internet then access the Android Market Place to peruse thousands of apps. Whatever it is you need you can find in the Android Market Place. Once you start to collect apps and programs, use the four portals available through the Android Honeycomb operating system to organize everything. Customize the homepage and make interactivity exactly what you want it to be.
Accessories
The first accessory which must always be discussed is a sturdy case. Acer offers a protective case which folds into a stand for convenient viewing. It is made of thick leather that provides extra durability without making the tablet too bulki as to counter the mobility desired. As usual with tablets a Bluetooth keyboard is available in case you want to type extensively without having to use the touchscreen. The Acer Docking Station comes with an IR Remote. Position the tablet in 2 ways to find the best viewing angle for you. Use the headphone jack and remote controls on the station to control media playback. The last accessory worth talking about is the AC Power Supply Travel Pack. It is a travel charger which is conveniently portable, and also comes with different adapters so you can plug and charge your Acer Iconia Tab A500 no matter what country or continent you travel to.
Cost
I've seen the Acer Iconia Tab A500 for as high as $559.99 and as low as $449.99 so do some shopping and you'll be sure to find the right price.
