Achievement

Donna Cavanagh
Achievement relies not on luck
But on our determination to succeed
We make plans; we set our goals
Our vision tells us how to proceed

Our dream is all consuming
But it is a labor of love from the start
We press on no matter what the challenges
Our vision becomes attached to our soul and our heart

Sometimes achievement comes in a moment
As in a championship game or race
We can celebrate the victory and the relief of success
The joy and the rewards we are eager to embrace

Sometimes achievement is a gradual process
It may be slow but it is still worthwhile
At the end of the road where our dreams turn into reality
We will greet our achievement with a confident smile
