Acid rain is a big pollutant and is caused by sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide. Utility factories are the main source for sulfur dioxide emissions.
When these gases fall back to the earth, it not only causes problems to the atmosphere but also to our health. It destroys plant life, wildlife, and also our ponds and lakes. If you think about it we are also drinking this because when it falls into the lakes, which is where we get our water from, we drink this. If someone where to tell you to drink a glass of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide, would you do it? If your answer was no, then why not if it is landing in our main water supply then aren't we doing this anyways?
Our Government has tried there best to stop a lot of these pollutants by requiring bossiness to shut down every once in a while when the reach there max allowance per day but this isn't really doing any good if the rest of the world isn't doing there part to help out.
If you where to go without anything that would cause pollutants or harm to the earth, then could you do it? Could you even do it for one day?
Back before there was electricity or the car, people went without a lot of things that caused pollutants. I hear people say all the time that they don't care how many pollutants are in the water because they have been drinking it for x amount of years but what they don't understand is that the water wasn't near as bad as it is today. What I mean by this is that there are more people today which means that the water is becoming that more polluted over time.
Another thing that I don't understand is why people use regular dish soap or laundry detergent or any other cleaning supplies instead of the all natural products that don't cause damage to the earth. Why would you use a chemical like dish soap on your dishes that you place on your lips and drink out of when on the back of the bottle it specifically says not to digest? You may say that you rinse the cup after you wash it , but what you don't realize is that you are rinsing it with water that is not completely purified and has been polluted.
Our Government is doing the best job that they can under the circumstances to get our water as clean as they can but the water that they put through there cleaning system is also traveling down miles and miles of pipes before it even gets to your house. So, is the water really clean by the time it reaches you?
You may not be able to save the world but what is it going to hurt if you tried? Every goal starts with just one person and that one person can make a difference.
