Acne Fighting Foods for You

Eating a healthy diet is the best way to get rid of, and prevent, acne breakouts. This may sound like common sense, but you would be surprised how many people do not realize that a healthy inside means a healthy outside. In addition to maintaining a healthy body, there are certain foods that help fight acne. Here is a list of foods that you can use to clear up acne and maintain clear skin.

1. Eat two eggs whites daily at breakfast. The yolk is the only part of the egg that contains calories and cholesterol. When a baby chick is incubating in the egg they consume the yolk first, gaining weight and health. Once the chick's bones start to form it consumes the white for protein for healthy muscle and bone. As humans we do not benefit from the yolk, but we do from the high protein white part. Egg whites help skin maintain elasticity which makes it better able to fight acne infection.

2. Drink one glass of milk at breakfast. The calcium in milk helps to keep bones strong. But milk also contains vitamin D which promotes healthy skin.

3. Avoid drinking too much coffee. Ever hear that coffee will stunt your growth? That is because caffeine will reduce the skin's ability to stretch and grow. The cells first become dehydrated in skin which reduces the skin's ability to fight acne infection.

4. Eat plenty of salads like that of cucumber, mint, onion, and carrot, etc. Any vegetables are good, but especially Vitamin A-rich foods. These promote the "glow" you see to healthy skin and encourage your skin to fight for survival.

5. Make use of garlic in your diet. Garlic fights cholesterol which can dehydrate your skin.

6. Eat fiber-rich fruits like apple, banana, pine apple, grapes, pomegranate, guava, pear and papaya. Fiber helps colon health which promotes skin health. If your colon is better able to process waste then waste will not store in your skin cells, which is the body's secondary system for waste removal.

7. Eat plenty of fresh green vegetables in your daily diet such as lettuce, peppers, spinach and broccoli. These also promote glowing skin and a healthy colon.

8. Make sure you have sufficient carbohydrates and protein in your diet like milk, beans, seeds, chicken, fish, beef, whole wheat and oats. Protein allows your skin to heal while carbohydrates promote growth. Without carbohydrates your skin is not as able to heal itself.

9. Take a Multi vitamin. Even if you think you are eating a healthy diet, I guarantee you are not getting 100% of everything you need to stay healthy. Take the vitamin and be glad we have them!

10. Keep hydrated. Make sure you drink plenty of water each day. Water hydrates your body and your skin allowing it to relax to help fight infection. Also, water helps your kidneys to remove waste so that it doesn't get deposited in your skin.
