Acne Scars: Home Remedies

It Will Save You Money

Jeon H.
Acne scars are horrible! Well you're probably reading this because you or someone you know wants to get rid of acne scars. Any treatment a dermatologist recommends is expensive! Although they are effective, not everyone has money!

Ice
Rub ice on your scars for about 10 minutes. I did this once and did lighten my newest scars but did not make a big difference. I personally don't like this method because after 10 minutes of rubbing ice, your face will heat up! Although, this may work with continued use, I've tried other methods.

Lemon
Apply lemon juice on your scars for about 10 minutes. I've never tried it and never will again. I just don't like the idea of putting food on my face. However, I've heard this works well.

Tomatoes
Slice up tomatoes and put them on your face. Again, I don't like putting food on my face so I've never tried it. However, friends tell me it works.

Aloe Vera
It has wonderful healing abilities. Not just for acne scars too! I apply 100% aloe vera gel every morning and night. My angry red scars lessen in color after applying the gel immediately.

Intake of Vitamin E and C
I've read somewhere that taking in vitamin E and C is more effective than applying lotions and gels.

Water
Water is important because it will cleanse your insides! It might also stop acne so this will prevent scars.

Time
Most scars will fade as time goes by. It may take a month or a decade.

There are cheap lotions that help fade scars. You can find them at stores such as Wal-Mart. Try to read reviews online and see what people say.

It is more important to prevent pimples rather than fading scars because if you don't have a pimple, you won't get scars.

Please discuss everything with your dermatologist. Just use common sense. Remember, doing this one time won't fade the scars. You must do it everyday! You should do one or more of the methods once you stop breaking out with pimples. There is no point in fade scars if you will just get more scars. Make it convenient for yourself and treat all your scars at the same time.

This may or may not work! Best option is to visit your dermatologist and talk to him/her about options.
