Acorn Representative Allegedly Condones Prostitution?

Acorn Staffer Takes a "Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil" Approach

Acorn has been in the new for a while now, and has been such a controversial topic for very many people. Although it is probably one of the most prolific acronyms in the United States (it stands for Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now), it is still one that has been associated with a pretty bad connotation. Most people, me included, really are not sure what these guys are up to. According to many sources, they are community organizers, and advocates for the low to medium income families. They work on things like neighborhood safety, voter registration, affordable housing, and various issues in the social sector.

Unfortunately, Acorn has been pretty hot in the search engine trends in the past 24 hours because of recent developments. More specifically, the controversial group has been accused of some unsavory practices involving a "pimp" and a "prostitute." Although they were no actual pimps and prostitutes in this video captured by biggovernment.com, the group apparently staged the whole thing in a bid to uncover the shady ethics of Acorn. An independent filmmaker, James O'Keefe posed as the "pimp" and sat in Acorn's offices in Baltimore and let officials know that they wanted to secure housing to maintain their lucrative prostitution business.

What is pretty shocking about the whole ordeal is the fact that the Acorn staffer said during the interview. The "pimp" asked a series of questions that went from shocking, such as basically stating that his partner was a "prostitute" and made about $9,000 a month. The staffer simply told the "pimp" to lie to the IRS and say that the earnings were $9,000 a year so they could be eligible for housing. Then the Then, it got a little worse. The "pimp" also revealed that they were planning to bring under-age girls from South America for the purpose of prostitution, in which the Acorn representative told him that they could actually claim them as dependents on their taxes, given that they were under the age of sixteen.

When the "pimp" went on the elaborate, the Acorn staffer told him that he does not need to go into specifics, as what they were doing as illegal, and he did not want to be directly involved in a scandal.
