Besides my love and my heart,
But those are the treasures I value most in this world.
When I think of you late at night, alone in this darkness I call home,
It gives me much undeserved comfort to think of you,
On the other end of this silken thread,
Across the miles between us.
I can feel the smile at the edges of my eyes,
And my spirit begins to rise,
As I see you type a reply to my call out for you.
Day or night, rain or shine, it doesn't really matter when,
We are bound, tied together by this silken thread,
As we hold hands with our words,
Across the miles between us.
Dreams are shared, hopes put forth, silent secrets traded,
As our thoughts walk across the screen one by one,
Word after word, in soft voices only we can hear.
What an intimate moment it creates to hear your voice,
In a gentle whisper in my head, above the silence of this world,
And to feel your love traverse that thread,
Across the miles between us.
Your love makes my heart smile open and my spirit spill out,
Filling the quill of my pen with my affections.
And I feel this unquenchable need to put it down on paper.
You deserve that much and so much more.
I can only hope you hear my words with your heart,
As I speak them to you on the silken thread,
Across the miles between us.
Your are the light that peeps over the ridge in the mornings,
My life would be dark with you.
You are the moon that hangs in the night sky,
Softly pushing shadows out of the way with your breath of pale light.
You are the song without words or notes,
That meters itself to the steady beat in my heart.
You are my Love, my Chosen One,
And for that I will always be grateful.
This test we face, this trial we try,
Is transient in nature.
Each tick of the clock lessens our separation,
But strengthens our foundation.
The time is fast approaching,
When we close the miles between us.
