Teenagers, teenagers, teenagers, many people that have children often wonder how to keep teenagers happy and content during holiday travel. Teenagers are a bit more complicated to keep occupied than younger children. However during holiday travel try to take along things that your teen loves to do.

In this article, I will tell you about a few things I have found helped my teenagers keep their almost adult minds content.

Keep Teenagers Occupied During Holiday Travel - Friends

Teenagers love their friends; there is no one like them. Invite your son or daughters best friend along for Christmas travel this year. This will give your son or daughter a close friend to have fun with while traveling.

Keep Teenagers Occupied During Holiday Travel - Cells Phones

Let your son or daughter take his or her cell phone with them on your holiday travel. Make sure to have unlimited calls and text. This keeps from paying a high cell phone bill. Taking a cell phone allows your son or daughter to stay in contact with his or her friends while away for Christmas break.

Keep Teenagers Occupied During Holiday Travel - Games

Keep your teenagers happy with hand held games for the Nintendo DS. Take their favorite games along and maybe your son or daughter will beat the game before you reach your destination.

Keep Teenagers Occupied During Holiday Travel - Driving

I know this may seem a little out there but if your son or daughter have their drivers permit, let them drive part of the Christmas trip. This will give them driving experience and give them something fun to do besides sitting in the backseat.

Keep Teenagers Occupied During Holiday Travel - Rest Stops

When traveling during the holidays teenagers become restless and do not like sitting in one spot for to long. Pull over at rest stops or small stores to give them stretch time. This allows your son or daughter to stretch, get something to snack on and a drink and a bathroom break as well.

As always when traveling during holidays, be sure to pack an emergency kit for your car or truck. Remember anything can happen and usually when you are in the middle of nowhere.

Merry Christmas.
