Vacation is All a Teen Ever Wanted

Max Richardson
Vacations provide a wonderful opportunity for families to reconnect, take a break from the day to day stressful events and relax. In such demanding times teens especially will appreciate having time for themselves. Here are some vacation activities that will re-energize and excite them.

1. A heartfelt day of volunteering or promoting a cause
Helping others by volunteering is sure to boost their esteem and give a valuable lesson about putting others before yourself. As a family you can also participate in a running for cause such as cancer. Organizations that assist in raising money for research include Relay for Life and Walk the Walk.

2. Expose your teen to art in one of its highest forms
For teen that enjoy music and acting attending a play or ballet is foolproof for being awed and entertained. Even for those teens that are not familiar with plays, a timeless classic, The Nutcracker has never stopped inspiring those around the world.

3. Shop til' you drop
Going to the mall is a favorite past time for teens. Teens often express themselves through clothes and malls are the perfect arena to find a diverse setting to fit their varied needs. For teens that enjoy art, try finding a local arts festival to purchase unique creations. At art festivals, teens can find memorabilia that reflects the culture of the location they visited and represent their own identities.

4. A park full of amusement
Amusement Parks provide all the thrill that teens want to last the entire vacation. If you are traveling to Illinois try attending the Six Flags of Great America, Cedar Point in Ohio or Busch Gardens in Virginia. While in the amusement parks times some time to walk around and enjoy the environment.

6. Explore nature
Adventurous teens that thrive in nature would take pleasure in being surrounded by the the wild. Find a national park to visit at The US National Park Service at http://www.nps.gov/index.htm. The charm and beauty of nature will be sure to take your teen's breath away.

7. Take a sports outing
Teens that love watching and playing sports would be more than delighted to see their favorite team in person. Find out the games that are playing in your vacation proximity and don't forget to celebrate the victory!
