Actor, Comedian Bernie Mac Dead at the Age of 50

When I heard the news about Bernie Mac passing away I was stunned. I had just came in from making a trip to the store. When told the news from a friend I dropped my bag of items and checked out on-line to see for myself the bad news. And there it was Bernie Mac died at the age of only 50, from pneumonia. I have always loved the work of Bernie Mac from his roles on movies, which he has starred in many movies with other leading actors like Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy in the movie "Life" or all time favorite for many the hit movie "Friday" which starred Ice cube and Chris Tucker. And of course Bernie Macs work in the Ocean eleven franchise working with such great actors, George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

Bernie Mac not only was a great performer on the big screen but also was a great performer in many households with his hit show which can still be seen, "The Bernie Mac Show". I loved the show and watched the show when it first aired on TV until it was canceled sometime in 2006. For those that were not familiar with the show it was about Bernie Mac taking on the responsibility as a parent for his sisters three children. The show not only was an excellent family show, but also at times could teach lessons about life and parenting. The show even celebrated it's 100th episode, and nominated for awards, I have to say that "The Bernie Mac Show" showed a whole new side to Bernie Mac's talent it showed a funny but also serious side to him, I guess through his real life experience as a parent. In fact the last episodes of "The Bernie Mac Show" viewers may have realized a slightly different looking Bernie Mac. From my understanding he had health issues even back then but he recovered and put on weight after recovery. "The Bernie Mac Show" was based on Bernie Mac's stand-up comedy routine and from my understanding it was based on his real life experience also.

About a week ago when I found out about Bernie Mac being in a hospital, I figured he would pull through and be okay. But unfortunately he did not, Bernie Mac a man who lived in poverty in Chicago made it to fame in LA. Bernie Mac started his comedian career at the age of 20, and a few years ago became one of the "Kings of Comedy" alongside other famous comedians Steve Harvey, Cedric "the Entertainer"and D.L. Hugely. Bernie Mac recently had criticism, for his appearance during a event for the political campaign for Barack Obama, Bernie Mac's jokes caused the comedian to be removed from Barack Obama's campaign.

Bernie Mac, one of the "Kings of Comedy" will be missed and my condolences goes out to his family may he rest in peace.
