Actor Corey Feldman Reacts to Death of Long Time Friend, Corey Haim

Actor Corey Feldman, who was practically joined at the hip with his Lost Boys co-star, Corey Haim, throughout the 1980's, released a statement on Wednesday to pay tribute to his late friend. Haim died Wednesday morning at the age of 38 after collapsing at his mother's home in Burbank.

According to People Magazine, Feldman released a statement that said, in part, "I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren't even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face. I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school. This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family, and best friend." Feldman posted the full, statement on his blog.

Feldman also requested that his family and Haim's family be given respect as they get through this difficult time.

Other friends of Corey Haim have taken to Twitter to mourn the death of the actor. Former girlfriend Alyssa Milano tweeted, "Just woke up to the sad, sad news that Corey Haim passed away. RIP sweet boy." Actress Nicole Eggert, who Haim also dated, wrote, "Lost an old friend today. So very tragic. RIP".

Corey Feldman and Corey Haim had a tumultuous relationship over the years, including an extended estrangement. They reunited in 2007 to star in the A&E reality series, The Two Corey's, which resulted in a shocking revelation of sexual abuse that allegedly occurred when the boys were teen idols.

Feldman, who famously wore full Michael Jackson regalia to Jackson's funeral last summer, has had a rough year. In addition to losing his childhood best friend, Jackson, last July, Feldman's wife, Susie, filed for divorce from the actor last fall. The death of Haim has got to be a horrible blow for Feldman.

Funeral arrangements for Corey Haim have not yet been announced.
