Actor Johnny Delgado, 61, has died from lymphoma. Johnny Delgado is survived by wife Laurice Guillen and his daughters Anna and Feleo. Actor Johnny Delgado is part of another story.

Rowena Joy A. Sanchez has posted an obituary for "Johnny Delgado, 61" on Manilla Bulletin Publishing Corporation (mb.com.ph)

In the article she tells us Delgado's real name was Juan Marasigan Feleo.

In 2008 Johnny Delgado was diagnosed with what was thought to be colon cancer. The result of an overlooked biopsy adjusted the diagnosis to lymphoma.

Delgado received an award for his work in "Tanging Yaman."

After the diagnosis was figured out Delgado began to get treatment.

Interestingly his doctor said that his "days were numbered." The cancer was throughout all of his body and Delgado just "left everything to the Lord."

These doctors reported that 85 percent of the cancer was gone after treatment. It was "melting like butter."

Part of Delgado's notoriety came from his wife, Laurice Guillen, who is a well known director and in fact directed Delgado in "Tanging Yaman."

Delgado unfortunately is one of many people who are losing to lousy medical treatment. That is not hard to prove today.

Hospitals are employing doctors. They say what tests will be run and it is all about costs. Further the "American profit motive" has been taken out of the picture. People still think other people are going to work at the "top of their game" without a profit.

Further, there has been a cutback on hospital staff and therefore you don't always get the best workers.

We received medical records on my wife. They covered three years. We had to get them because we were going to the Mayo Clinic.

We found over 25 errors or omissions and the very sad thing is that unless there is a major problem from one, there is no way a patient can enforce better treatment.

So Johnny Delgado, 61, has died of lymphoma leaving a wife and two children. He died with hope and he died with courage.

It is too bad the medical profession didn't totally hold up their end of the bargain.
