Actor: Domhnall Gleeson
Role: Bill Weasley
Bill Weasley is the older brother of Ginny, Fred, George, Ron, Percy and Charlie Weasley. He appears and/or is mentioned in all of the Harry Potter books, as far as I can tell. However, his role was apparently not important enough for the films until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. If the film is to be anything like book, we should see a decent amount of Bill.
Domhnall Gleeson is the oldest son of Brendan Gleeson, who plays the role of Mad Eye Moody in the Harry Potter series. Domhnall has experience in television, movies and theater. Furthermore, he fits the Weasley look perfectly. In fact, he looks a great deal like James and Oliver Phelps, who play the Weasley twins in the films.
Actor: Bill Nighy
Role: Rufus Scrimgeour
Rufus Scrimgeour is a former auror turned Minister of Magic. He becomes the Minister of Magic in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. However, the character does not make an appearance in the films until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. To say too much about this character would be to give away a twist that I hope will appear in the films. Suffice it to say that it is an interesting character and that the chose a great actor for the role.
Bill Nighy is probably best known for his role in the Underworld films. He also played the "he's not my dad" guy in Shaun of the Dead. In my opinion, he plays a great sinister-seeming good guy.
Actor: Ciaran Hinds
Role: Aberforth Dumbledore
In one or more of the earlier novels, Dumbledore mentions a brother who has some sort of unlawful affinity for goats. There is something of a mystery solved when Aberforth Dumbledore appears in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, so let's just leave it at, he is there and he's Dumbledore's younger brother.
Ciaran Hinds is an Irish actor who has appeared in numerous films and television series. To be honest, I'm interested to see him play Aberforth. I have not given much thought to the character being portrayed in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film, so he will surely come to personify the character for me.
Actor: Rhys Ifans
Role: Xenophilius Lovegood
From the moment Harry, Ron and Hermione met Luna Lovegood, they heard her speak about her father and his publication the Quibbler. He does not appear in person until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. If the film goes along like the book, Xenophilius will appear at two important moments, once when he is wearing a mysterious symbol that comes to play a huge role in the film and again when he explains that symbol - among other things.
Rhys Ifans appears in numerous films, most noticeably historical fiction films. He suits the look of Xenophilius Lovegood. It will be interesting to see if he can play the eccentric man.
Actor: Toby Regbo
Role: Young Albus Dumbledore
A great deal of Dumbledore's past is explained in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Therefore, there has to be flashbacks in the film, or it would not be the same. Young Albus goes through some very tragic events in his youth. That will mean a very emotional film rendering of his story.
Toby Regbo has not been in many films. I have never had the privilege of seeing him act. However, he is a very handsome boy and he has a very dramatic look. That should suit the role he plays in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows well.
Actor: Jamie Campbell Bower
Role: Gellert Grindelwald
Grindelwald is a childhood friend of Albus Dumbledore. He grows up to be a much-feared dark wizard. In the end, his evil is surpassed by that of Voldemort. He may even have a decent, if not good, streak.
Jamie Campbell Bower has been in a number of films and television series. He, like the boy who plays his best friend and ultimate enemy, is handsome and dramatic looking. He also has a darkness about him that will suit his role as Gellert Grindelwald.
Several other actors will be joining the cast. However, these are the ones that we will most likely see the most of.
