Actress Lindsay Lohan Found in Violation of Probation; Sentenced to 90 Days in Jail

A judge in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday afternoon found actress Lindsay Lohan in violation of her probation stemming from a 2007 drug case after prosecutors were able to prove she failed to attend the recommended amount of court-ordered alcohol education classes.

The star pleaded with the court in tears as the Judge found her guilty of her probation violation to spare her from going to jail and asking that she be sent back to an alcohol and drug treatment facility. Prosecutors spent 5 hours questioning various witnesses who work at the treatment facility Lohan was supposed to go to under the court order.

Lindsay Lohan signed in to the center for one-on-one group therapy sessions a total of 26 times since last year, which was under the amount the Judge expected of her. This was despite one of the owners of the facility saying that while Lohan missed 9 classes she managed to double-up to make them up.

Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail to be served starting in the next 2 weeks and 90 days of inpatient treatment after she is released from jail. After that Lindsay Lohan is barred from having any contact with alcohol and drugs.

The "Mean Girls" and "Parent Trap" actress missed a court date in May and was required to wear a alcohol monitoring bracelet during the time she was on probation, but several times it went off, most notably at the MTV Movie Awards and an after party, and notified officials she had been drinking. When Lohan came to court after the awards show the Judge increased her bail to $200,000.

Lohan had several excuses over the past year for why she missed court dates or showed up late, including claiming her father had someone steal her passport at Canes that prevented her from returning to the United States. She also claimed she couldn't get out of a filming schedule in North Carolina which caused her to miss another court date.

Lohan became visibly upset and cried with her lawyer as the Judge read her verdict to the court.

Lindsay's estranged father Michael Lohan was reportedly in the audience at the court house before Lindsay showed up 10 minutes early for her hearing. Michael Lohan reportedly petitioned the court to have his daughter moved to a treatment facility in New York state so he and her mother could visit her when they wanted to.

But Lindsay Lohan has made some drastic improvements in her appearance, attitude and rehab treatment since her May hearing which the Judge noted in her ruling.

This isn't the first time Lindsay Lohan has been to jail. She went to jail for 84 minutes in 2007 after being arrested for the drunk driving violation.
