Actress Minka Kelly to Marry Yankee Superstar Derek Jeter

According to reports by the New York Post, Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter will be marrying girlfriend Minka Kelly on Nov 5^th, at the Oheka Castle in Long Island. However, the proposed wedding would not be confirmed by the Oheka Castle Sales manager, who insisted that celebrities would not be listed under their real name and as such, the information would not be available to reporters.

While Derek Jeter has always been a high profiled athlete who at times as been romantically linked to such celebrities as Miriah Carey, his relationship to actress Minka Kelly has normally been kept low key and out of the public eye.

Kelly, who played Lyla Garrity in the TV series Friday Night Lights, and who once played Pink Power Ranger Giovanna Russell in one of the many incarnation of the kid's TV show The Power Rangers, is an upcoming actress who currently has the movie The Roommates in post production. As side from her big screen role in The Roommates, Kelly may also be returning to television in the series Body Politics. Though the pilot for the drama has been shot, and is being shopped around to the networks, the show has yet to be picked up.

Born on June 24, 1980, Kelly is the daughter of former Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay, and the grand daughter of actor Richard Ney. Though born into a family of entertainers, Minka did not take up acting until she moved to Los Angeles at the age of 17. Hooked on acting after taking one just one class, the actress decided to make the craft a full time career. Though not getting her big break until she was cast in Friday Night Lights, Kelly did showcase her talents in many minor roles including a recurring character in the comedy, "What I like About You." Her fiancé Derek Jeter is coming off one of his most productive season for the World Series champion New York Yankees. Jeter a sure lock for the baseball Hall of Fame, will be chasing the 3,000 hit plateau over the next two seasons. Born in 1974, Jeter's birthday of June 26 is only two days apart from Kelly's.
