What a Tragic End for a Shining Star!

A very sad news is released this evening that actress Natasha Richardson has died. This comes only days after the London born actress apparently suffered head injuries while skiing in Quebec, Canada on Monday March 16th. This is shocking news, as I thought this was not as serious as it now is.

According to MSNBC, a publicist to Richardson's husband Liam Neeson released a statement confirming the death. The statement reads that "Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time."

What a terrible tragedy to lose this beautiful, 45 years old talented artist. I loved her work in "Patty Hearst," "Maid in Manhattan," "The Parent Trap," and much more. More importantly, her efforts in helping raise fund for AIDS and participating in AIDS charities was remarkable.

The eldest daughter of Oscar winner Vanessa Redgrave and late director/producer Tony Richardson, Natasha had apparently not felt any sense of urgency after the fall. In fact, it is stated that Natasha "did not show any visible sign of injury." And even though the ski patrol "insisted she should see a doctor," Natasha did not do so right away since she did not feel the need to. About an hour later, she began to complain of headache so they took her to the Sacre-Coeur Hospital in Montreal. She was brought to Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan on Tuesday where she died today, to the shock of all who heard this sad news.

Natasha is survived by her mother Vanessa Redgrave, husband Liam Neeson, two sons, and countless family members and fans. May her soul rest in peace!

I just hate that this happened. I really liked her, so seemed so approachable.
