Acupressure to Relieve Symptoms of Chronic Fatigue

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a complex health disorder that is marked by extreme fatigue that can get worse with physical or mental activity. The fatigue is debilitating and does not improve with rest. The symptoms of CFS are general and may be caused by other illnesses, making it difficult to diagnose. Acupressure may help to contribute to a feeling of well being and may help to relieve symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Symdrome.

The cause of chronic fatigue syndrome is usually not known. Symptoms of CFS may include fatigue, memory loss, lack of concentration, sore throat, enlarged lymph nodes in the armpits, pain the the joints, headache and extreme exhaustion lasting over 24 hours.

Chronic fatigue is difficult to diagnose because there are so many illnesses that can cause fatigue. If you have excessive or persistent fatigue you should see a doctor for diagnoses.

Acupressure is an ancient Chinese medicine that is believes to help help the flow of energy in the body. While is it a treatment that does not have a lot of scientific research to back it up, it is generally considered safe, it may be worth trying for the chance of improvement in health.

Since Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a condition with many general symptoms, the acupressure techniques include general points that help to boost overall health.

There are pressure points throughout the entire body. Often the pressure point will feel slightly tender when you press on it. Massage the point firmly but without excessive pressure.

Following are some of the commonly used pressure points, used for symptoms including insomnia, digestion, muscle stiffness, anxiety, breathing, headaches and general toning. These symptoms can be caused by many conditions, including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

1. The point on the ball of the foot, between the fleshy pads.

2. On the top of the foot, above the big toe and the second toe, about two finger widths from the base of the toes.

3. On the inside side of the foot, just beneath the protruding bone connected to the big toe.

4. On the inside side of the foot just behind the ankle bone.

4. In the fleshy web of the hand, between the thumb and forefinger.

Acupressure is an alternative medicine that is widely used in China but is not fully understood in Western medicine. Acupressure is a wellness technique, to help promote wellness and build the immune system.
