Adam Dunn Trade Rumors Intensify with Giants and White Sox

Ryan Christopher DeVault
Adam Dunn trade rumors are creating a fever around baseball. The latest Adam Dunn trade rumors involved the San Francisco Giants, Tampa Bay Rays, and Chicago White Sox. There had been rumors involving Dunn going to the New York Yankees, but it appears now that the front office of the Washington Nationals simply wanted too much in return. With the Yankees bowing out of trade talks, it opened up the door for the San Francisco Giants to begin entering the talks. At last report, the Giants were looking into trading pitcher Madison Bumgarner as part of the trade that would bring Dunn over to the West Coast. This doesn't necessarily mean that the Nationals are seriously considering a deal with the Giants yet, though.

The evolution of the trade rumors sending Adam Dunn to the Chicago White Sox have taken another step forward, because apparently the White Sox have a new asset that the Washington Nationals are interested in acquiring. Chicago just pulled off a deal to bring Edwin Jackson over to the South Side from the Arizona Diamondbacks in a deal that originally appeared to be shoring up the pitching staff of the White Sox.

Now it appears that the Jackson acquisition may have just been a step to get another player in place that Washington would be interested in trading for in order to make them a more attractive trading partner in the Dunn sweepstakes. Don't be surprised if there ends up being a quick deal of Dunn for Jackson in the near future. Dunn could really help out the offense in Chicago, having hit .277 so far with 24 home runs and 64 RBI in the 2010 regular season.

It was revealed that no contract extension was offered to Adam Dunn by the Washington Nationals, and that has led to an increase in chatter about what might happen with him next. Many Washington fans have fallen in love with having Dunn as part of their offense, but that could quickly dissolve if the team ends up trading Dunn away during the first year he is with the team.

Washington was able to sign Dunn to a free-agent deal of $12 million for one season, making him a free agent at the end of the 2010 MLB season and possibly making him more attractive at the trade deadline. For Dunn, this could be the chance to get into a playoff race, and potentially raise his value even more for 2011 and beyond with a great postseason performance.

Ehh, please don't trade BumGarner. I am also reluctant to trade Sanchez because right now 1-5 the Giants are rock solid

the giants will not part with posey or madbum due to the fact that im pretty sure we would all riot and boycott games if that were to happen

they already said they wouldnt trade bumgarner or posey, i think the only pitcher theyd consider trading is sanchez and some prospects.
