Adam Lambert Controversy Continues: Ellen Degeneres Sits Down with Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert Behaves During Ellen Interview

The Adam Lambert controversy continues weeks after the 2009 American Music Awards. During the AMAs, Adam Lambert had a shocking performance that left many people outraged. Adam Lambert kissed a man and rubbed another man's head in his crotch. After his controversial AMA performance, Lambert remains unapologetic. He cites "double standards" in the entertainment industry, adding that women performers have pushed the envelope for years. Many Adam Lambert fans also point out that there were other sexually charged performances during the 2009 AMAs, including a rap about rape from Eminem and Janet Jackson grabbing a man's crotch.

In the wake of the Adam Lambert controversy, Good Morning America canceled his appearance. He was picked up by The Early Show, which got criticized because they blurred out the controversial parts of Adam Lambert's AMA performance. On the show, Lambert refused to apologize for his performance...even to parents of small children that watched the show. He said he's a performer and not a babysitter.

It seems as if the Adam Lambert hype would have died down by now, but it hasn't. Adam has a group of loyal friends as well as a group of harsh critics. People are watching Lambert's every move, seeing if his AMA antics are any indication of how he is going to act in the spotlight.

Today, all eyes were on Adam Lambert as he performs on The Ellen Degeneres Show. How did Adam Lambert act on Ellen? Did he behave? Access Hollywood reports that Adam Lambert addressed his fans by Tweeting: "AMA performance was a one time event. Goin in a new direction now. Focus back on the music. Don't worry friends: I'm still gonna be me. Always. [Without] apologies. Just gonna experiment differently [with] how I present myself."

Adam Lambert's dad told him that he should apologize, but Adam refused politely because he doesn't think he did anything wrong. Lambert also doesn't blame ABC for getting mad at him and canceling his Good Morning America performance. He still states that he didn't have the controversial pieces of his performance during rehersal.

Ellen Degeneres made a valid point. Those that are offended by the sexual overtones of the Adam Lambert AMA performance shouldn't be upset with the gay aspect of it - they should be upset with the sexual aspect of it.

Lambert was very well behaved during his interview with Ellen Degeneres. Based on his Tweet to fans, we will probably see a much more subdued Lambert - at least for a little while.
