Adam Lambert Controversy Video Blurred by CBS

Adam Lambert's controversial video has been widely seen already. However, the Adam Lambert controversy video is still way too hot for some networks. CBS was supposed to be a safe haven for Lambert, once ABC wouldn't let him perform after the AMA routine. But Adam Lambert's actions still have too much controversy for even CBS, as they let Lambert perform on The Early Show and David Letterman - but didn't fully show the 'controversy' of his AMA video.

Among the things that made Adam Lambert's AMA video so controversial was when he kissed a male keyboard player. Everyone knows that Lambert is gay - and knew it even before he actually came out - but he had never been this public about it until now. Ever since the controversy broke out, Lambert has maintained that this is the real reason for all the backlash.

CBS looked to be more accepting of Lambert when they let him perform on their shows, after ABC dropped him. Or at the least, they were accepting enough to get the ratings boost Lambert provided. But when The Early Show replayed the video, they blurred out the 'controversial' part of Lambert locking lips with a man.

Savvy Internet bloggers remembered that CBS did not blur out the Madonna/Brittany Spears makeout video from several years back. Once that little error got out, CBS released a statement, saying that the Lambert controversy was more current, and may still have "legal consequences."

In the meantime, ABC replaced Lambert's planned concert on Good Morning America yesterday with Chris Brown - who has been subject to "legal consequences" of his own lately. With the network's odd decisions, and with Lambert's refusal to apology, the Adam Lambert controversy video has officially turned into a homophobia issue.

The networks can easily be accused of homophobia, but the audience might be a different matter. Certain sections of the public who watched the AMA video may have been offended for bigoted reasons. However, if most of the audience felt that way, then Lambert's sales wouldn't have jumped through the roof afterwards.

Thanks to the controversy, Lambert's debut album "For Your Entertainment" stands to be a bigger hit than ever. Controversy may break out for good and bad reasons, but no matter what - it sells. For Adam Lambert, it is giving him a greater platform than ever, even on networks that may be scared of him.

In the end, Lambert got what he wanted from his AMA video in the first place - people talking about him and buying his album. If a wider audience really turned on him because he was openly gay in his performance, his sales would have taken a hit, instead of being better than ever.

However, the networks don't have a strong defense, and that will keep the Lambert controversy alive - and take it to new serious directions.
