Adam Lambert Gone Wild

Wow! If shock and awe was what Adam Lambert was going for with his performance at the AMA's then I must say he succeeded! The AMA's have always had a reputation of being on the edge and testing the moral waters. Adam Lambert took that test a few steps further.

Let's take a step back and start at the beginning. Adam Lambert. A guy from California vying for the American Idol title. A guy no one had ever heard of and now a guy we can't stop hearing about. Now on American Idol I will say he had a wide vocal range but that is about all I can say. In my opinion some of his "singing" seemed more like screaming. I, for one, was very glad Kris Allen won the title of American Idol and not Lambert.

I do believe that Adam Lambert went too far in his AMA performance. It is always interesting to see how these celebrities try to justify their behavior after the fact as acceptable. Granted, in today's society it's sad to say that this behavior is widely tolerated and accepted. We have come a long way from the days of I Love Lucy when you couldn't even say the word "pregnant" on tv.

Adam Lamberts performance really shouldn't have come as a shock to people. His actions that night are just a drop in the bucket of moral decay that our world has come to accept. Television these days seems to be a no holds barred platform for immoral and unethical behavior. All while the "moral" and "upstanding' citizens of the world stand idly by. Yes, me included. I believe we do not do near enough to stand up for what is right and stand against this filth others call entertainment. As you have probably noticed I have not, nor will I, go into any detail of Adam Lamberts performance. I will not dignify any part of it by the mere mentioning of it.

I really could care less how Adam Lambert acts in his own home and in his own space. My concern is the influence he will inevitably have on the younger generation with the way he publicly acts. Especially the following of the younger generation he had on American Idol. People like Adam who are put into that position of a potential role model should take that role very seriously, and most of them do not. Think Brittany Spears, Lindsey Lohan and countless others. They go from unknown to well known without the realization of the impact that drastic change carries with it.

Ultimately it is up to parents to monitor who and what their kids are into to avoid such incidents as them perhaps catching an Adam Lambert performance such as on the AMA's. Parents are the only ones who can do something about it and probably are the only ones who care. It is clear that no one else does.

I just read today that Good Morning America canceled Adam Lamberts future performance on their show. I say kudos to you! More should follow suit. As the saying goes, "If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything".
