Adam Lambert and Kris Allen Are Two American Idols

This season in my opinion has been one of the best so far. I have not seen every season, but the professionalism, performance quality of the contestants, and the final battle are far beyond the scope of an amateur contest. Adam Lambert and Kris Allen provided one of the best final performances on American Idol to date. Both performed, not like an amateur that is on the road to discovery, but rather like two professionals who look, feel, and play the part of super stars. It really would not be wrong for both to win for their own qualities, but win or lose Adam Lambert and Kris Allen are Two American Idols

Two years ago we saw Blake Lewis and Jordan Sparks competing in the final round. Jordan Sparks a superb singer and performer, and Blake Lewis a rhythmic, versatile, sing anything kind of guy battled to the finish. This year we have Kris Allen as the stage performer who can produce a one man show with his keyboard and guitar at hand, and Adam Lambert as a versatile singer performing everything from Led Zeppelin to the soft and heart tugging melodies of slow rock, and either way shining like a diamond.

Win or lose, Kris Allen has a future and may potentially be an American Idol in his own right. I believe he could easily fill a forum with nothing more than his piano, guitar, and voice and would leave the audience wanting for nothing... except perhaps an encore. Kris Allen's Cd's could sit side by side with the likes of James Taylor, Barry Manilow, or Marvin Gaye, as he can take the softest most touching songs, sing them spectacularly, and add his own touch of soul to them.

Adam Lambert on the other hand, can bring tears to the girls with love songs, get the bikers dancing on stage with Born to be Wild, or as it appears, just about anything in between. If Adam Lambert cannot write his own music, or find songs from other writers to perform, he is so talented at taking older songs and making them his own by changing the dynamic of the song and making it new again, that he could make a career of just that. Adam could in essence making a living performing classics with his own flavor and perhaps out sell the originals.

This year Adam Lambert and Kris Allen are Two American Idols, win or lose, each will be an Idol in his own right. Who do I think will get it? I don't know, but I believe Adam Lambert should edge out Kris Allen by his uniqueness and flexibility through a host of genre's. Those who were in the audience were fortunate to have experienced the unique concert performed by two separate artists who one day people may pay hundreds to see. For this final episode of American Idol, there are two winners and no losers.
