Adam Lambert Launches New Single on Ryan Seacrest Show
"For Your Entertainment" Debuts Just Before Halloween Weekend
Adam Lambert told Ryan Seacrest and his listeners on KIIS-FM, "It's dance music with a glam-rock shuffle beat, in the style of T. Rex and 'Rock & Roll, Part 2.'" He further characterized the song as his "Britney song," as opposed to his more powerful "Christina song," the power ballad single, "Time For Miracles," released from the soundtrack for the apocalyptic movie, "2012."
Those who follow Adam Lambert on Twitter know that the launch of his new single was in keeping with his tweet Sunday, where he told his followers that the "new single SHOULD be out next week." Technically, the American Idol alum jumped the gun by a couple days, but it is doubtful that his fans mind all that much.
On Adam Lambert's official website, comments about his new single have poured in, complimenting Adam and "For Your Entertainment." Silverbyrd wrote: "Absolutely love it! Finally, the wait is over and it was sooo worth it! Way to go Adam. How can you not dance to this. And the lyrics are great..." Glamlady gushed: "LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!! Dancin in my chair and trying to type. This is kind of what I expected when you said you were doing Electronic Pop, but your voice takes it to another level. Nov. 23 can't come soon enough!!" Dyg complained: "I love this song!!!! But I am soooo mad because I tried to buy the collectors edition and it is only available in the US. This is not fair for us, international fans..."
Fans of the song can buy the single for $1.29, but if they pre-order the album, they get the single for free.
The launch of "For Your Entertainment" is the latest in an event-packed couple weeks for Adam Lambert. The video for "Time For Miracles" launched on October 21. He released the album cover for the new album Wednesday and talked to Oprah via Skype on Thursday's "The Oprah Winfrey Show," when her topic was "Favorite Reality Stars."
When Oprah brought up reports that pre-sales for his album was eclipsing Madonna, Barbra, and Mariah, Lambert said he loved those artists, that the news was "bizarre," and he had to pinch himself daily. Oprah asked, "But can you believe it?" He laughed, "Not really. No."

"For Your Entertainment," the album, will be released on November 23.
