Adam Lambert Not Televised for New Year's Eve - It's Just Not Right

Adam Will Perform Live at Gridlock New Years Eve Event

Mary Zeiher
Adam Lambert will not be on television for New Year's Eve. Adam will be performing at the annual Gridlock New Year's Eve concert in Los Angeles, California. But the event is not televised. So Adam Lambert, the most amazing performer to emerge in 2009, the most talked about new musical rising star will not be seen and heard by television watching millions, because it is not televised.

How did this happen?

As we are now all aware of Adam Lambert performed at the American Music Awards show back in November and his supposedly-provocative performance caused quite a hullabaloo that continues to be reported about for the 2009 year and probably into 2010. This was his first major performance since being names runner-up on American Idol, to Kris Allen who took the title from Adam Lambert. Many are still writing about how that anomaly occurred.

Adam performed the title song at the AMAs to his first album, "For Your Entertainment". That album has since sold over 415,000 copies around the world. But there was instant controversy and 1500 complaints wee lodged at ABC about the performance.

So what did ABC do?

Thay cancelled Adam Lambert on ABC shows that included a Good Morning America performance and The Jimmy Kimmel Show. But ABC also released the fact that they were no longer considering Adam Lambert for the televised live-performance on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.

Adam Lambert bounced back quickly from the cancellations and had appeared all over television to include eventually being asked back to ABC for an appearance on The View. He has also been seen on David Letterman, CBS Morning Show, Chelsea Lately and Jay Leno.

Adam Lambert also landed the gig for tonight for the 5th Annual Gridlock New Year's Eve party held in Los Angeles at Paramount Studios. Gridlock is an elaborate party held in Hollywood in Paramount Studio's backlot and four city blocks are set up to represent four different New York City areas that will hold over five thousand revelers tonight.

Adam Lambert will perform live in concert, after the countdown and with the fireworks, on the "Times Square Stage" at the stroke of midnight tonight. The event is hosted by Pamela Anderson and costs $150 just for general admission and VIP tickets run upwards of $3500.

But Gridlock is not televised. So, unless you live in LA and have at least $150, you will not be seeing Adam Lambert tonight. Gridlock is not televised.

It's really a shame and it's just not right.

Not sure this article is still running on January 7th, but Adam kicked butt at the Gridlock and he was so lucky to get to do 11 songs instead of one or two. He was truly amazing and it is too bad that so many people missed out.

I believe his last television appearance was on the Leno show and was fantastic. If you're talking about the AMAs, then it's time to move on.

I'm sorry, I so don't get Adam Lambert. If he wants to be a main stream entertainer, he's going to have to perform in an acceptable way. His last TV performance was a disgrace. That kind of thing is only acceptable in venues where people can choose to be exposed to it, not network TV.

I caught 1 song from Kris..awful. He just cannot sing and strains so hard to reach notes--it hurts. Saw Allison sing 2 and she is still great but one song is all yelling and she is more talented.

Saw the vids of Adam and he is more talented than anyone even with blurry bad sound! Such a shame that he was not televised!!! People are crazy seriously, he is more than entertaining--so much more. Glad the Red Cross was the recipient of the money. Also, just the think Adam does--give to charity. Way to go Adam you are amazing.

Watched ADAM perform at Gridlock NYE tonite and even though a lot of it was blurred he was still AMAZING. There were people from all over the world watching ... South Africa, Canada, South America, New Zealand, Asia ... everywhere just to get a glimpse of ADAM. I live in NY so I had to stay awake until 3AM because of the time difference and IT WAS WORTH IT! No TV on in our home tonight ... had to nap so I could be wide awake for ADAM. I hope nobody watched ABC tonight ... I know ADAM's fans didn't bother to. No more ABC for us in our family!

YES ABC sucks - Adam is the one we all want to see - He is so exciting. Someday - I hope he tells ABC NO when they ask him to help them with their ratings!

ADAM was everywhere in 2009. It was the ADAM LAMBERT year and it is only the start. He will rule this year 2010 and the decade and the next. I have no doubt about it. ROCK ON, ADAM. Kill it at Gridlock. Happy New Year to all ADAM's fans everywhere. And to you, ADAM baby and to your loved ones.
