Adam Lambert Quotes on 'American Idol,' Being Gay, Love and Lady Gaga

Adam Lambert's Top Ten Best Quotations & Sayings

Bryan Mckinley
Adam Lambert has become one of the oddest performers in the music industry. His quotes are just as intriguing as his many on-stage antics. His best quotes cover his thoughts on being gay, American Idol and being different in general. Here are Adam Lambert's top ten best quotations and sayings.

Adam Lambert quote on being perceived as too feminine

"Why can't men have strong feminine sides? Does that make them less of a man? I don't know why our society has such an emphasis on masculinity and femininity-it's really gross. I don't think you're truly sexy until you don't care about that."

Advice from Lady Gaga

"GaGa told me about the previous three years. She worked really, really hard before she made it. She told me there's no glamour, you don't get a lot of sleep, you don't get a lot of stability in your social life - you just have to count on yourself and go for it. It was a good pep talk. And she was right."

Adam Lambert on kissing

"The thing about kissing somebody is that you know if the person wants to be kissed or not. I would never kiss anybody who didn't want to be kissed. The people I kiss are the people who give me that eye the entire night. I would never force myself on anybody."

Quote on realizing he is gay

"I was an ugly duckling, I was overweight and at 12 I realized I was gay. I kept that a secret until I was 18, so dealing with that and not feeling attractive was hard. The main validation I got was from being a performer, because it made me feel good about myself."

Adam Lambert quote on being different

"Growing up I wasn't very confident. It wasn't until in my early 20s that I evolved into who I really was and wanted to be. I always used to look at being different as a bad thing, but I've learned that you need to take pride in the fact that you are unique."

Who he dreams of working with

"To be able to work with David Bowie would be amazing, his imagination and creativity are beyond - he's an icon. I'd also like to sing with Christina Aguilera - I love her voice; I've been a fan since she came out and I think we would throw down and we would be loud. I would love to work with Rihanna - she is so down to earth and sweet and kind and friendly. Her tunes are so catchy and visually she is just giving you beauty."

Adam Lambert quote on love

"I have a fear of being alone - not being alone by myself, but I want to fall in love, and grow old with somebody and I just sometimes get scared that it's not going to happen."

Perfection

"I am so hard on myself. If you were on the outside looking into my head you would probably be shocked. I'm a perfectionist and I get so frustrated with myself when it's not perfect."

Who Adam Lambert crushes on

"I just want to stare at them looking beautiful. David [Beckham] is very handsome, I wouldn't kick him out of bed."

Quote on American Idol

"I thought 'I'm not what they usually go for, I don't know if it's going to work out but it did, and thank God I auditioned."

Interesting. I had heard most of these quotes, but I was surprised about David Beckham. Adam does have good taste, but it's still takes getting used to comments from a man about how hot a man is (I'm an older straight mom). Adam is helping to make me more open-minded.

I agree the quotes are intriguing because of the crazy questions that he always gets asked. Notice I said the quotes themselves are just as intriguing not odd. I actually find the honesty enlightning and rare.

Is being talented, intelligent, honest and caring odd? Rare, for sure. Should we celebrate mediocrity?

Well Bryan everyone knows the person asking the question is the odd one. The person being interviewed can only try to make those odd questions legitimate. I'm an Adam fan and know in what context he gave these responses. They were good answers given in a friendly conversational manner.

Really!!!! I just read this article, and if you find these responses to questions odd then you must have something wrong with you. They gets asked question after question and at least he thought of something of substance to say off the cuff. Amazing
