So what's my problem with it? It's a superb song as is, first of all. Second of all, the judges speak with forked tongues. One artist, they harangue for changing a song's melody, and another they build a monument to for the very same thing. Seems a double standard is at play. What me, a conspiracy theorist? Perish the thought. I'm just saying, there is a little double talk going on.
I'm a melody girl. Give me a good melody and I'm a happy camper. So when Adam went off melody at what I consider to be the crucial point in the song, it totally killed it for me, not to mention all that yelling going on. It's a good thing Simon cleared it, with Bono, upfront or there'd be some serious 'splaining to do.
But Lambertine's of the world, take heart, Adam will, in all likelihood, still be the American Idol. He will most assuredly make it into the finale.
As for Danny Gokey, he may make the finale as well, if for no other reason then that he has momentum and sentimentality on his side. His performance of Joe Cocker's, "You Are So Beautiful" was dynamite. Though, Danny has had some uneven performances, during the competition, one thing I can say is that when he is on, he's tops. As a fan, from way back, of Terrence Trent D'arby's I was less than enthused with his performance of "Dance Little Sister" and it had nothing to do with his gyrations. I believe he could have done something more with one of D'arby's more melodious offerings. However, he more than made up for that with the Cocker classic.
The only thing anyone seems to be sure of, is that Adam is going to win. The number two spot is totally up for grabs.

That's ture Saul. Of course I would be Kris's album or at the very least I'd down load it from Itunes. I think Kris has some options if he wins or even if he doesn't you can believe I'd be pinning Jamie Foxx down on that whole working together on a record thing. I think Kris has gotten the most out of the competition and epitomizes what American Idol is supposed to be about.
I loved it. Gokey went home. My two guys are the two finalists. I thought Gokey should have went home after that godawful glass-breaker he pulled last week. I still haven't figured out where Kris Allen has gotten all that backing, but I'm all for it. I'd like to see him win it. I'm a big Adam fan, but I think he's going to be fine no matter what. He's assured success singing, going Broadway, whatever... Kris, on the other hand, will gain the most from a big contract because it will give him that extra push he needs. He's far better than Blake Lewis, but I feel that if he comes in second, he might end up just like Lewis. And that would truly suck...
