Adam Lambert a Year Ago and Now
Adam Lambert from American Idol to Music Superstar
On March 10, 2009 Adam Lambert triumphed with the American Idol judges and millions of American Idol voters with his rocker rendition of Michael Jackson's "Black or White". Even Simon Cowell admitted that the performance set Adam Lambert into a different league from the other American Idol performers.
The audience went wild that Tuesday night a year ago and they were on their feet cheering for young, highly talented Adam Lambert. Paula Abdul put it like this on that night, ""Never in the history of American Idol have we ever seen someone so comfortable on that stage." Paula then added to her review, "You've got the whole package going on."
How right Paula was. Over the following weeks we watched as Adam Lambert amazed us with his performances of "Cryin'", "Mad World", "Tracks of My Tears", "Feeling Good", "Satisfaction", "Ring of Fire", "Whole Lot of Love" and the list could go on. We sat mesmerized each week waiting to see what Adam Lambert would do that week. And Adam did not disappoint.
Even though the supposed voting did not result in Adam's victory on American Idol he has still had amazing success ever since that fateful night. Not even openly telling the world through Rolling Stone magazine that he was gay, no surprise there really, could put a dent in the rising star that is Adam Lambert.
Adam Lambert was asked to record the soundtrack for the movie 2012 and he released the song "Time for Miracles" on October 20, 2009. Adam Lmabert started work with an array of superstars on his album "For Your Entertainment" which was released on November 23rd, 2009. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard Top 200 and it sold 198,000 copies its first week released.
Then came the controversial performance that Adam Lambert gave in November 2009 at the American Music Awards when he performed "For Your Entertainment". While his performance did include kissing a male keyboardist, imitating fellatio with a dancer's pelvis, and grabbing the crotch of a female dancer Adam Lambert told Rolling Stone magazine, "Female performers have been doing this for years-pushing the envelope about sexuality-and the minute a man does it, everybody freaks out. ... My goal was not to piss people off, it was to promote freedom of expression and artistic freedom."

He has appeared on all major television networks and cable networks performing his music and his latest to be seen was a fantastic set Adam Lambert did for the VH1 show "Unplugged". Adam has been busy promoting his album in the land down-under Australia. He also just did an interview with Nightline.
Adam Lambert is a very busy and phenomenally talented young man that we will continue to enjoy through the years as he continues to make incredible music and please his ravenous fans.

I do miss seeing Adam Lambert perform weekly on national TV. I pay attention to his travels around the world and am so thrilled that the world is getting his amazing talent.
Very nice article. I agree that Adam Lambert is now a Mega Star. He is love and embrace internationally. Adam amazing talents plus his graciousness is the key to his success right now. He never disappoint his fans. He is an entertainer and loves to please his audience. I love Adam Lambert just the way he is. I can't wait for his next album and I hope it will all be a ROCK album all the way.
wish I could go back time to AI last season to watch Adam Lambert to perform on TV weekly again... I really really miss that, especially AI this season is sooo suck!!! Can't get enough from Adam Lambert... Go Adam!...
I can't keep track of all the countries he now has a gold CD in. I think it's now 4 or 5 and one platinum. Simon was right when he said Adam would be their first International star. He had 100's of fans waiting for his arrival at the airport in Japan. He even had fans waiting for his arrival in Singapore despite the fact he arrived in the wee hours of the morning.
Adam is a good natured person as well as an outstanding talent. He has a lot in inner strength & grace, is articulate, intelligent, personable, intrepidly honest, and never makes excuses,or blames or whines.Confident and poised, pleasant mersmerizing performing artist and incredible singer, Adam is the most intriguing, exciting artist in decades. I wish this kid a lot of happiness and success, he has brought my family much pleasure and we are all back into music again.Thanks Adam for everything.
That night ADAM performed MJ's Black or White, I shall never forget. It was so electrifying that I was stunned. I was just overwhelmed. And I did watch that video all day all week after that and thrilled me every time. ADAM has captured me from his audition but it was that Black or White when I said a superstar is born on Idol stage. The rest is history. And I'm enjoying the exhilarating ride.
Nice artivle. Saw Adam Lambert live in Indio, and I can say he is truly a remarkable performing artist and holds the audiance in the palm of his mesmerizing hand. If you ever get a chance to see him live, it is worth whatever it takes to get there.
