Adam Lambert's Hometown Highlights

Adam Lambert Heads Home to San Diego in Private Jet, Screaming Fans and Day in His Honor by City Mayor

Adam Lambert returned to his home town of San Diego and enjoyed his arrival in the American Idol private jet. A quick interview at the airport revealed that this was the first time he had ever flew into San Diego in a private jet and that he is looking forward to going to his old high school.

When asked if a large black bag we was travelling with was the American Idol makeup bag, Adam Lambert laughed and said, "Um, no. All I really need is eyeliner. I have worn eyeliner for years. I asked for it. When we were looking for looks for the show I asked, can I do eyeliner and maybe nail polish?"

Adam Lambert was then asked bout his favorite moment so far on American Idol, "This last week, the Led Zeppelin tune ("Gonna Give You My Love"), probably ranks as my favorite of all the material I have gotten to sing on the show. It was something I didn't think was going to happen, so when they approved the song, when I got up there I just had so much fun."

Adam Lambert was then whisked away into the huge American Idol white limousine to the Fox 69 studios in Dan Diego where a huge screaming crowd greeted him.

The Fox 69 studios had a surprise waiting for Adam Lambert, his Mom. They interviewed Adam and his Mom and talked about how Adam Lambert loved theater way back to the age of three, and by age 10 in Fiddler on The Roof production he shocked the audience with an amazing note in a song that no one expected. After that he asked for singing lessons which they supported and it was on from there.

After the stop at the television studios Adam Lambert was on to a private concert at a local Art Center and then the High School visit where seating was completely sold out and people were sitting on the surrounding hills and hiking trails to listen and get a glimpse of American Idol's Adam Lambert.

There was a military flyover for American Idol's Adam Lambert while at the high school and a young lady got so overly enthusiastic she removed her shirt and tried to get on the stage. Security quickly had the girl under control and Adam Lambert meanwhile laughed at the event. With about 15,000 estimated attendees the mayor of San Diego declared it "Adam Lambert Day" and presented Adam Lambert with a plaque.

There might a second Adam Lambert day coming up when he returns to San Diego as winner of the eight season of American Idol. Go Adam Lambert!

Niki, your corrections are not quite accurate either. Adam did visit the Poway Performing Arts Center, where he performed for years in a children's theatre company when he was little.

There were crowds everywhere he went, at the tv studio and the radio station, and Fox is now broadcast on channel 69 in San Diego, so the author was not totally off there.

Wow were those 25000 fan ticked off that he didn't show up at Seaworld?? I'd think that's what would cause a riot...

I was at Adam's concert at his high school on Friday. I am old enough to remember watching the Beatles and Elvis on Ed Sullivan and attending early Rolling Stones concerts. That's what the hysteria was like. 7,000 fans , many screaming "Adam", some crying, all smiling. A primitive sound system on a makeshift stage...it was great, like the Beatles at Shea Stadium.
Adam sang "Black or White" and "Mad World".
Classic moments: A girl taking her shirt off and running 55 yards on the football field past security guards to get on the stage with Adam for a chance to hug him.
Adam telling the limo driver to stop the car so he could comfort a young girl crying that she didn't get to meet Adam.

Adam singing the Star Spangled Banner to troops and their families hitting some great notes..

    This is IDOL stuff....

Seaworld cancelled his 3pm visit because there were 25,000 fans there overwhelming security. It became pandemonium, with people having to park 3 miles away to get in. I'm glad the support was there for Adam, though! The world loves him!

THIS ARTICLE IS FULL OF ERRORS - you should never be a journalist.
    ERROR 1
Adam did not get off the plane and was whisked away to a "huge screaming crowd" to greet him". Actually, he came in on Thursday and the only ones to see him were Fox 5 news.
    ERROR 2
The first stop was Fox (and it is Fox5 San Diego, not Fox 69 studios) where he was greeted by fans" (not huge screaming crowds, as it was not announced to the public)

    ERROR 3
"After the stop at the television studios was on to a private concert at a local Art Center"
He did not go to a local Arts Center, he went to the STAR 94.1 radio station (where there were screaming crowds, and then to ATT. Get your facts straight.

"and then the High School visit where seating was completely sold out and people were sitting on the surrounding hills and hiking trails to listen and get a glimpse of American Idol's Adam Lambert."
No tickets were for sale, it was open seating, but it was full.
