Adam Sandler to Star in New Disney Film

Popular American actor, Adam Sandler, is signed up to star in his first Disney film. The news reported today says that Adam Sandler will star in an upcoming Disney movie called 'Bedtime Stories', a comedy film for families.

Adam Sandler is well known from his numerous comedic roles most notably, 'Happy Gilmore', 'Waterboy', 'The Wedding Singer' and 'Little Nicky'. In his new role for the Disney film, 'Bedtime Stories', Sandler will play the part of a real estate developer who's world being s to change when he notices that the bedtimes stories he is telling to this niece and nephew start happening for real.

The chairman of Disney, Dick Cook, described Disney's latest family film as, "a fantastic story that weaved together elements of comedy, fantasy, and genuine emotion."

The announced regarding Adam Sandler and Disney working together came this morning. The president of Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, Oren Aviv happily delivered the news.

The director of 'Bedtime Stories' will be Adam Shankman. Shankman has expressed his delight at the news he will be working with Adam Sandler saying that Sandler has proved he works great with kids and is an ideal choice for a Disney project.

Adam Sandler will not only star in the movie he will have some say in the production of 'Bedtime Stories' as well. The film will be co-produced by Adam Sandler's and Jack Giarraputo's production company, 'Happy Madison Productions' and also by 'Gunn Films'

Adam Shankman is currently putting the finishing touches on his latest film 'Hairspray' a musical that is set to reach theatres on July 20. Shankman will also serve as one of the executive producers of 'Bedtime Stories'.

Two of the main reasons Adam Sandler is said to have taken the role in 'Bedtime Stories' is that he has recently become a father and that he will also have a lot of creative control in the film. Director Adam Shankman said, "The fact that he is a new father, and the idea of making a beautiful Disney-brand fantasy is something that is in his heart right now. And he gets to play dual role. He gets to play a regular guy and a knight in shining armour in the fantasy world. The comedic possibilities are limitless. And there is nothing better than Adam and kids. It's going to be really fun."

Adam Sandler was born in Brooklyn New York on September 9, 1966 and spent most of his childhood in Manchester, New Hampshire. His discovered his natural comedic ability when at the age of 17 he took the stage on the spur of the moment at a Boston comedy club.
