Adam Sandler's Movie Click

A Insight into Life

I recently watched the movie click which is a well-written thoughtful funny movie. I considered it to be one of the best movies ever and definitely Adam Sandlers most thought provoking piece of work to date. What would you do if you could control your world? That is exactly what this movie address. The scary realization is that we are a TiVo world and wish to control every second of our lives like the televisions in front of us. This movie is real honest about the mindset of our society and what we sacrifice for our career.

Adam Sandler plays Michael Newman, a workaholic who is handed the remote control to his life. He meets Morty, played by Christopher Walken, a strange scientist working in the way beyond and his adventure begins. At first the remote is like a gift from heaven he is able to manage his life however he chooses. The power he has is to smart for his own good and in the end he is forced to rethink his life.

Kate Beckinsale plays his loving and extremely patient wife, who is supportive of him even when while dealing with the emotions of neglect she has. Michael often pushes his family to the side for his career. He thinks that he is doing what is best for them but he is really just pushing them away.

When Sandler's character first gets the remote he finds himself fast-forwarding through the parts of life that he thinks are unimportant only to find the remote eventually controls him. He has lived his life on autopilot and in the end out on the most important parts if his life, his family.

This movie has an outstanding cast that interacts well together and the screenplay emphasizes the importance of the message. In the fast past world we often find ourselves wanting to rewind our children, fast forward through that vacation with the in-laws and using TiVo to catch our Childs soccer game we are sure to miss. In the end the only thing that matters is if we are engaged in our own existence and that is exactly what click is about. Behind the funny words and scenes is that understanding that we don't understand what is important in this life until it's gone.
