The Adams BTY Fairway woods are a perfect match to their BTY driver. It's compact, clean look at address, along with a square face angle make this the perfect looking club for the better player, but the perfect setup. Adams took multi material designers to the next level with this club. Where most companies will simply add a face insert or an entire face of a different material to make the club hotter, Adams made the entire face and crown of the club from one piece of Titanium. Why you ask? This not only makes the entire club face a giant, hot sweet spot, but the lighter Titanium crown helps to move more weight around the perimeter and to the rear of the club to help with forgiveness and ball flight. A custom weight port on the sole and a 75 gram tip stiff Pro Launch Red Shaft by Graffaloy add the perfect compliment to the driver.
I was luck enough to test the driver and fairway wood on the same day. I really like the fact that the shafts are the same from driver to fairway wood. While the fairway shaft is a little heaver, as it should be, the basic playing characteristics remain the same from club to club. The Insight BTY looks great at address. It is smaller and more compact yes, but the whole face is a hot sweet spot! I was able to get very good results from anywhere on the club face, and when I put one on the center of the club, BAM!!! This thing took off like a rocket! I was able to move the ball left, right, high, low, I could do anything with this club and felt great each time I hit it. I again credit Adams for putting a good shaft in this club to match the head that is nothing short of incredible.
With the BTY fairway woods, driver and Adams Idea Pro irons and hybrids, I dare say this is a combination that the best players in the world might soon be going too. Badds and Rory have, so give them a try! This isn't your fathers old Tight Lies!
