Adams Golf Idea A2 Iron Review

With all the hybrid/iron combo options Adams Golf has come out with in the past 5 years, the one golfers keep coming back to is the original. The first Adams Idea hybrid/iron combo set was a huge hit with armature golfers and seeing this, Adams has kept it in the lineup over the years. A little fine tuning and some modifications over the years and the Adams Idea line of irons has become their most popular entry level combo set.

The Adams Idea A2 Irons are a progressive set of irons. The 3 and 4 irons are hybrids that feature a very high MOI, low center of gravity and a softer tipped graphite shaft, these clubs are very easy to launch into the air to take advantage of the new golf balls the go forever in the air!

The mid irons feature a hollow back design. This moves weight to the bottom and perimeter of the iron for greater accuracy and distance. They are very easy to hit and have a perfect gap in distance between them and the hybrids. They also feature a graphite shaft for maximum distance and carry.

The short irons are cavity backs. They fly a little lower even with their graphite shaft and still maintain a high level of accuracy and forgiveness.

You have the option of getting steel shafts in the 5-Wedges, but I would suggest sticking to graphite to keep the distance gaping the same throughout your set. They also feature a 1 and 2 hybrid and wedges to go along with this great set!

I have hit a couple models of these clubs now and this is by far their best design yet. They are just phenomenal in distance control. You can tell Adams Golf is the master at these combo sets because you get a consistent gaping between your hybrids and mid irons. Most cases the hybrids fly much further than your typical long irons while the other sets in the combo stay the same. I could actually hit a few working shots with these clubs as well. Fades were minimal, but a high or low draw was very easy to produce.

This is by far the best hybrid/iron combo set on the market for the average player. They are around $400 and can be found at most golf stores and on line. If you need a little more forgiveness and carry in your game I would suggest that you go try a set!
