Adams Golf Tom Watson Wedge Review

Ever since the Adams Tight Lies fairway woods came out in the late 90's, Adams golf has been a fixture in the golf industry. They have had their ups and downs sure, it is hard to live up to the hype and success of their first product! During recent years however they have been gaining ground in a tough market. Notable players on the Champions Tour are playing their products and now for 2008, Aaron Baddeley and Rory Sabatini have signed on! They have been making some great products in recent years, most notably their hybrids, but there has been one set of clubs they have made that get more popular every year. The Tom Watson Wedge Set!

Yes, a set of classic shaped, soft cast wedges for under $100! These irons perform great and look even better! The 2007 set is no different.

They feature a clean, classic look and are cast from a very soft stainless steel for the feel of forged but at a lower cost. They have a gun-metal finish to reduce glare and a great look as well! The functional side of these wedges are that they provide a longer blade length than previous models making the hitting area larger. They also have widened the soles and specifically ground each sole to help prevent the fat shots around the greens! Their sole grinds also make these wedges very playable from all over the course weather the face is set square or open for a hi loft shot!

I pulled these out of a box a few months back and was really impressed with what I saw. The grip and shaft were a little cheap, but the quality and playability of the heads was amazing. There was not a single shot I could not pull off with this set. I could get the ball to spin from all around the green and it got through deep rough and sand very easily. I almost thought about picking a set up and re-shafting them with a better shaft and grip, but I am waiting to see if they make a 2008 model! Overall this is a great set of wedges at a great price. If they would make them with a little better shaft, they would sell millions of them!

I would suggest this to anyone who is looking for a consistent wedge set to complete their bag and save money at the same time!
