The number one club for most golfers to get comfortable with is the fairway wood, the 3 wood to be more exact
Most players will find one that they like and stick with it for what seems to be years, and that's usually because it is! Used anywhere from the tee, fairway, rough, bunkers, having a fairway wood that a golfer can count on to get them adequate distance and accuracy when the shot may not call for a driver off the tee, or a club that they can consistently get airborne and judge the ball flight and distance from the fairway is so very important to a golfers mental outlook to the game. That search may just got a little easier!
The Adams Insight Tech a4 Hybrid-Fairway wood melds the best of both worlds. The long distance of a fairway wood with the control, ease of use and accuracy of a hybrid. Designed to fill the gap between your fairway woods and hybrids, these clubs are sure to be a hit, and sure to be copied by other golf club manufacturers.
The best feature of all is that they come in traditional lengths and lofts of fairway woods. NO jacked up lofts and over length shafts that makes it nearly impossible for most amateur golfers to consistently repeat shots with! These types of hybrid-fairway woods should catch on very quickly to the amateur golf world.
Personally for me though, the club looks a little odd in size and shape. Sure they are using their "Boxer" technology for high MOI, but the fact that it is in between a hybrid and fairway wood throws my eyes off a little bit. The results however don't disappoint as I was able to hit the 3 wood a nice 215 yards with a nice soft ball flight time after time. This may be a bit shorter than hitting a standard 3 wood for me, but the ease of use and consistency will be a benefit for most golfers.
The Matrix Ozik shaft is a nice compliment combining a great head with a very good shat. If you are having issues with your fairway woods, I would highly suggest this be the first to test for you as I am sure you will be very surprised at how easy it is to hit!
Stay Tuned,
Mike
